Seriously - sure Liverpool will be there or there abouts. But I obviously want City to break into the top 4 and Liverpool are no more than contenders for that. They are no chance of winning the title...

in the World of EPL finalised teams become finalised teams 20 minutes before the game, which for Fantasy Coaches is a pain in the a***!

Before the season everyone wrote Blackpool off.. But after this display against a mid-tier team could they go on and do well?

Liverpool 1 Arsenal 1

Gunners outgunned early i think. Arshavin had a shocker. The Frenchman N'Gog got praise from Spaniard Torres on the touchline everytime he got a touch, and even a bigger one when he found himself in a great position before he neatly tucked the ball in between keeper and post. All this stuff midweek about a new keeper is true, they need a new keeper but i think Almunia stepped up so that was good to see (and i'm not a fan of him!) But we have to admit Liverpool deserved the points but shades of Robert Green appeared at the 90th from Spain's Second Choice keeper Pepe Reina. What a shocker!! Great game

HA HA HA Liverpool wont go into administration. You guys are dreaming. RBS has taken control or will do until a buyer can be found. The Chinese and Siberians are still trying to get control of the club its just the bank would not hold out unless they revealed their funding sources and we all knew that wasnt going to happen knowing how the chinese do business. Poulsen is a very handy Midfielder who is a part of the Denmark national team with 70 odd caps.
You guys all sit here and go on about Man City and their squad and yet if it wasnt for Joe Hart Tottenham would have won 3 or 4-0 on the weekend. You can have all the stars in the world but if they don't gel it means squat. Especially when your manager plays a 4-5-1 with Tevez up front.
I've never claimed that Liverpool are a title threat, just that we will claim our champions league spot back. I'm just saying write us off at your peril.
Anywho we will soon see after the weekend when Liverpool travel to City.

True - tell me though - If you'd had 1 day to prepare your team and were playing a side that was 4th best last year and are virtually exactly the same side as the previous season - and u had lost to them 11 out of 12 times - what formation would u play" Teams BETTER beat city in this first month cos that's when they'll be at their worst. Can't wait to see Liverpool City this weekend - will be a cracker!

Very true but if you were city and claiming that you are wanted to make a title challenge wouldnt you want to make a statement in your first game? Playing it safe wont win you a title. You are going to have to beat the likes of Man Utd, Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool away from home to win it and you wont by playing it safe. Why not use the talent at your finger tips. I'm sure the owners weren't happy with $80mill of signings sitting on the bench during that game.

Not from the game I watched. Liverpool did well to actually get some of the ball in the 2nd half a man down, but were lucky not to be 3 or 4 nil down in first half...
By the end of the game The Arsenal had 17 shots on goal to 9, and dominated possession 64% to 36%, so the Gunners were unlucky not to win, but I think a draw was probably a fair result, considering how Liverpool did stand up a man down...

Not if u beat them at home and draw away. Last year City stuffed Chelsea 4-2 away, drew away to Arse and L'pool and lost 4-3 in the 37th minute of Fergie time at the Swamp.
Also the owners wouldn't give a fat rats if there was $80 mill of signings on the bench - by the way - who are u referring to?? All the newbies were playing.

A - Mancini won't play the newbies (he played them all against Spurs)
B - they're gonna cut him cos he isn't playing everybody?? U can only fit 11 on the park.

As for making a statement - whoopty **** - most City fans are happy with the point and we're moving on from there - In our first 5 games we have Spurs, L'pool and Manure - it'll be a tough start for us but we have a very easy finish as a result. That's why I've said teams better beat us now cos when our players get familiar with each other (they had 1 day to prepare before the Spuds game) we'll be a lot better.

By the way City won away in the Euro league - Balotelli scored on debut. L'pool also won 1-0 at home - Cole missed a penalty and newbie Paulsen had a good game from what I read.

Great viewing. Good to see some top finishing from Theo after going on his runs, he can be frustrating at times but hopefully finds some consistency now. Chamakh missed a few Bendtner-like sitters before he scored and Van Persie and Fabregas came on when the result was beyond doubt and didn't get injured which was a relief. Clean sheet for Almunia but thankfully was rarely tested. Still waiting on another CB and a GK to challenge this season...

Nani did a Joe Cole - forced his way to the spot and then shagged it.

Spurs were very lucky - Crouch basically stopped a goal with his hand that was already over the line!

Ones of those tricky matches i reckon, teams like Fulham, Everton and Blackburn can knock even the best teams when playing at home.

And with Giggs he was off at the time wasn't he??

Nope Giggs was on watching the miss.....agreed about those away games - they're tough teams. Stoke are another strong team at home (well they were!!)

Thye didn't, Walcott was on fire hitting a hatrick and Arsenal got home easily.

Wow. Chelsea just look unstoppable right now.. When Drogba doesn't score others do including a Kalou double, an Anelka double and singles for Malouda and Benayoun.
And while Drogba didn't score he scored a hatrick of assists and helped his side get over the line a the end of the day. I see another 5-0 plus win against Stoke on Saturday

What happened here? This Villa side was expected to finish Top 8.. i don't see that happening anymore. O'Neill walking out and Top players including Milner have been sold off which doesn't help the cause.. They are in big trouble. They didn't show up to play against Newcastle on Sunday. But Newcastle!, what a recovery from last week's 3-0 loss to United. Messi named national team-mate Jose Gutierrez one of the best in the EPL earlier last week.. And did he show that off! Nolan scored a brace and Carroll a hatrick.. Can they continue on this form throughout the season
