2006 NBA Finals - Heat vs Mavs

Mavs are playing some really good ball and Dirk was unreal today... but Im hoping for the series the Heat get going at home.... It wont be a sweep! The Heat will come back!

All I can say after todays effort is

"boo hoo dwyane wade".. refs aren't gonna bail you out now.. its the finals.. i've prob put my foot in it.. he'll get 20 free throws game 3

Im not hating, never said anything along those lines, Im saying that so far, the series as a whole hasnt been worth much chop. People were labelling the spurs vs nets, pistons vs lakers, spurs vs pistons finals as "boring"

but all Ive seen so far is scrappy basketball, from both teams. Its just the mavs can make shots (and FT's), while the heat cant do anything half decent at the moment.

and people call Manu a flopper? Posey has got to be right up there...he took 4charges today, at least 2 of em he stepped in underneath the guy passing!

Zo has been the only player for the heat today that looked like a decent NBA player.

Unless Shaq and Wade pull their heads out of their asses, and the rest of the Miami crew realise that you need to do more to get their stars the ball...the mavs will smash em in four or five.

and yeah, 4 point plays (and stackhouses 10 straight points) are good to watch, I look at 4 point plays as more shitty d, fouling jump shooters is such a poor defensive lapse!

I had a great time watching the game... I dont think any NBA Finals is boring. Maybe only those who supports teams that arent in the finals would say that... If someone will say its a boring series then don't watch the rest of it. I support Orlando but enjoy any game I can see because I love basketball... :D If someone wants to talk trash, do it in the heated discussion threads!!!

Wade is not the advertised superstar... Shaq, 5 pts... must be the most dissapointing game of his life... (also got benched in the 4th). Only walker and Zo played like they want to win...

Dallas is awesome!!! I like the harris alley-oop to Stackhouse!! Dirk is Great. Terry is the key to this success (he stopped the Heat rally in the 4th). Diop is Big body (got Shaq frustrated!). Howard is good as well...

i dont know why everyone was wanting this series...instead of pistons/spurs

this series has been garbage...the turnovers, the crappy execution...

the mavs arent doing anything special, its just the heat are terrible today..wow so excited watching the heat make fundamental errors in post passing...wow!

Well my Team (Chicago) were knocked out early so I wanted a Heat / Mavericks series so I could see two teams without a chapionship compete for one - Simple as that !!!

Who watched today's game......how awesome was the the Dallas changerooms ?!?

Thats probably the one thing I'll give Cuban credit for, spending a bucket load of cash to make the Mavs a more professional outfit...before that they were a sorry ass team, that had an owner who didnt put anything into it (much like the clippers did, I think their old owner has gone too)...

but it was interesting what they said, how it helps bring in free agents...but who on the mavs team has been a free agent signing? if anything they have lost their most prized FA (Nash) and gave away Finley.

All the players they have were brought in through trades, and the best trade in recent times was getting Harris and Stackhouse for Jamison. (apart from getting dirk for tractor traylor hehe)

What about the LCD, Stereo & Playstation in each cubicle !

As for trades...the Dirk trade was the Trade of the Century if you ask me :)

For whoever watched the game, here's my analysis. Miami was with Dallas, but once they started firing hard we couldn't answer. The point of the game which we lost it was when Stackhouse hit 3 triple's including the four point play.

As play continued we couldn't hold down Howard, Terry OR Dirk and Dirk especially hurt us this game. They didn't need Terry's scoring as much and he had a brilliant 9 assists. Howard was solid.

Down the stretch we REALLY needed Udonis, and without him there was a massive void.

ZO was the only one who thought we could still have it, 11 points, 4 boards.

Let's get back in it Miami, lots of adjustments need to be made.

wouldnt be surprised if the mavs snatch this is 5 games.. the heat have shown how much they rely on two people.. hope some of you people start to see how wade is a bit of a cry baby at times..

the only outstanding issue in this series is, who will be mvp?

p.s .. so far I agree, this has been a terrible series.. not living up to much.. it's as bad as watching the spurs stink up the excitment.. ;)

They've been like that for a while (the change rooms) and really makes Dallas one of those teams you want to play for, and not want to leave.. Cuban and co. have really put alot into this franchise to ensure it's a great environment for their players..

hehe its funny you say how the spurs stink up the excitement, while the Mavs are controlled by Avery, who likes to play a very "Coach Pop" system...and both those coaches were tutored under Don Nelson. Who also played for the spurs at some point!

cmon man.. the spurs stunk the whole comp throughout the season.. duncan only came alive come the 2nd round against a quality side.. last year they (the spurs) only came alive and looked fantastic against phoenix, yet against everyone else they play their "lazy, lets get everyone the ball 5 times each, pretend a pass then shoot" offence .. you yourself can't say it's breath taking? admit it..

avery has a few more exciting players that are more exciting to watch by accident... apart from dampier.. you can't say the mavs are as ugly to watch as the spurs?

I hate watching opposition teams play the spurs game and not come out and set their own tone..

I dont think the spurs are fantastic to watch, but at least they play "the right way"...its not all glitz, but the team work and execution is worth watching...

I guess there are some people who see Wade take that over the head/backwards shot and holler and go "ooooh how awesome" but all I see is a bad shot. He makes about 1/10 of those.

The mavs are definately watchable, apart from dirk going to the basket which is just a gangly mess, but howard, harris and jet are very crafty getting their shots.

Whats with calling Wade out... His a great player who has the talent to be one of the best ever... calling him a cry baby might be the funniest comment ive ever seen from an NBA fan... I really dont know what to say about it... Who calls a guy who gets banged around but still gets up a cry baby... You go to the lane get smashed by a 250pound man and tell me how quick you get up!!! CRY BABY please!

your entitled to your opinion.. and thats great.. thanks for contributing...

he's a built up athlete who's probably been hit around his whole life.. the last season has shown how much he's adding "crying" to his game.. just get on with it.. watch the bulls/pistons series in 1988 onwards.. the michael jordan rule, he got knocked down hard .. and bounced back up.. and they where out to get him intentionally.. yet wade gets a few knocks here and there and carries on like he's been victimised by a sniper in the crowd.. not all that much this series i might add, but it's pissing me off.. i used to really like the guy..

i just don't like seeing "superstars" carry on like he has this season, or turn to the ref to bail them out.. drives me insane.. i'd rather see an antoine walker shimmy (joke)

The games may have seemed scrappy, but there's a lot on the line, and people will crumble sometimes under so much pressure. It's not a regular season game, so teams wont shoot the same percentages.

If the Mavs can take at least 1/2 of these next away games, I'd say it's as good as over.

How good has Dampier been lately?????

Damps been steady.. he's really making shaq work, and chipping in with points/rebounds.. good on him.. i felt sorry for him in a way sitting on the pine last series..

and i'll add scrappy plays and ugly basketball can win basketball games, but i guess we're wanting a fired up exciting series for once.. if the heat played as well as they have of late then we'd have an exciting series already.. it's just not living up to the hype i guess.. wish jwill would come out of his shell.. makes some flash passes, some off the dribble plays.. i dont like watching you have to dump it into shaq, or give it to wade to create..

your right trey with the wade shots.. it was a great shot, and brought some excitment, but i dont know what to say.. somethings missing.. some flare.. or some spark..

the spurs wheren't always ugly.. when dave was around they wheren't as bad..

seems im going into peoples bad books when i state some pretty obvious things.. i'm probably expecting too much from the nba these days.. bring back the old school

white choc, who really cares if he takes a bit of a whinge (what he doesn't even do that much). If you get hit down who cares if you get straight up or whine about it, only start caring if they call tech's (which they did today, but wade's not usually got called for tech's).

Does it really matter guys? Don't dwell on stupid things like that.
