15-16 NBA Draft and Pre- Season discussion

He's not a specialist 3 point shooter, but doesn't mean he's not great at spreading the floor. Pau Gasol was not a 3 point specialist, and his high IQ and passing, not unlike Aldridge meant he was very good at spacing the floor - especially for Bynum who could only work with his back toward the basket.

Randle is definitely not a small forward - undersized power forward (like Odom), but Odom was best utilized at PF, especially once Ariza, MWP, etc game to town. There's no reason why this couldn't be the case with Randle.

I get what you're saying, but making LA a floor spacer would require him to change the role he has been exceptional at over the last few years. He plays with a center that doesn't use the ball well, facilitator and shooters. Not alongside a center AND another close to basket forward.

But if Randle is gonna be a bench player, then all this is pointless talk as he will be Aldridges backup.
I still don't think he goes there, doesn't seem to fit IMO!

Exactly!
But as I said, he would have been better off in Portland if it's just about $$

Side note: when I clicked 'like' your post, I got redirected to a "are you sure you want to like this post" page! haha maybe I didn't really like it??? lol

Pero Antic has quit the NBA, signing a deal in Turkey instead.

Ps - I had no idea he's currently 33. Obviously came over for a quick pay day?

Ben Gordon has been waived by the Magic

Loul Deng has opted in at Miami

Goran Dragic looking to stay in Miami, wants to accept a 5 year / $93 mill deal.

Yeah i agree! How they can afford both Dragic & Wade on those sorts of deals - and probably not even be a 'lock' for a top 2 team out east, I dunno.

The Toronto Raptors have joined the list of teams to have a meeting & pitch with Lamarcus Aldridge.

Hyperthetically if we was to become a Raptor - where would this put them on the team rankings out east? I'd imagine their defense would be questionable but offensively they've have to be a top 2 or 3 team in the conference?

It'd be huge for them but I just can't see it. Dallas and San Antonio make sense because he was born and raised in Texas. And with LA, I'm sure I read somewhere that he has a home there also. So there seems to be a bit of a homely theme.

He didn't even have a house in Oregon - he rented from Damon Stoudamire, which is now on the market.

Honestly, I think most of this "going home" stuff is media driven - they love the idea of Durant going home to play for Washington. Love was linked to Portland for the same reason. So was Paul George to LA. When I hear it, I just don't buy into it. Money and success speak louder at the end of the day.

PS - I love Pop's attitude on free agency. The true San Antonio way of doing things!

Lol, much love for Pop, I don't believe in the going home stories, Toronta would be an offensive beast with LMA, they would be a genuine contender, same if wizards got KD which I would actually like to see, always felt sorry for Washington for some reason
