Hey all,

please share my anger with me, using this post to bloody vent coz i could seriously kill someone rite now  (only joking dont take that seriously).

Have a wedding this weekend on Sunday, Church at 3 and then reception following. Spewin coz i told the wife to say no when we got the invitation and worked out it fell on Grand Final day. She insisted on going coz its her friend from school blah blah blah..... after much stress she RSVP'd yes.

I work for Telstra and literally 5 minutes ago my boss walks in and says hes got 2 spare tickets to the Telstra Corporate Box for the Grand Final, he asked if i wanted them. I tried with all my heart to find a way around it but i had to say no......the hardest thing ive had to do in my life was say no to those tickets. I immediately wrote a nasty text msg to my wife lol

Really really really pissed rite now!!!!

Should have taken tickets then pulled a sickie for the wedding....
Can't believe people plan weddings etc around GF's very inconsiderate, can understand the female not caring but geez the bloke should know better...

must be an AFL fan!!!
POOR BASTERD!!! I would have taken the ticket, gone home with flowers, cooked dinner, done the dishes and housework and then told her your going to the footy!!! OR get your boss to ring your wife and say you must go to the footy or your fired!!!!

its your mates fault. what kind of groom would agree to a wedding on GF day!?!
is there a smiley face that cracks a whip...? <insert here>

Surely she owes you corporate tickets to next years final if you HAVE to go to this wedding

I am in a similar situation........my good mate has been given 2 corporate box tickets including airfares to the AFL grand final. Instead of taking one of his valued mates.....(me) he is taking his wife who doesn't even like AFL.

Not happy!

Yeah I don't understand that.. You take the fans.. Not the other half to keep the peace.. If my other half wanted to go to a grand final rather than a wedding with me... I would be ALL for it.. Weddings are often overrated.. And often don't last...............

Funnily enough.. I have never met a man that liked football as much as me.. I am still searching.. Apparently.. It is strange for a girl to be sooooo into footy.. Blah.. I'm going to the footy finals next year.. Probably by myself.. And no one will stop me!!!..

I got me a wonderful wife who loves her cricket AND her RL.

Unfortunately, she breaks our unbroken run of NRL Grand Finals this year because she is 38 weeks pregnant and gets too tired now. LOL!

I bet you have not told your wife the bold part yet  You have already set a standard by saying yes to this one :( and so has your wifes g/f if her future husband is an AFL fan like yourself.
If your wife has lots of nearly married friends, they will be sure to compete with each other. One thing I am pretty sure that happens often is showing how in charge they are of their own partners.... "if she can get her man to miss the grand final then so will mine" there might be a string of Grand final weekend weedings sooner than you think

congrats on the upcoming birth...
