British singer Amy Winehouse found dead

I had heard about it and it is a tragedy for her family and what fan's she had but honestly .... I'm not that too concerned about it. She was a well known alcoholic and Drug-addict, so there's nothing unexplained about the cause of her death.

i could see this happening, she was lucky she didn't kill herself sooner with all the drugs she took

TBO I think the Norway tragedy is more befitting a thread....this story is a drug addict died of a drug overdose......

/\/\ the 27 club is reserved for jimi, janis, jim, jones & kurt. theres dozens of muso's that have died @ 27, but to be in the club you needed to have been pretty influential...

didnt know there was an actual club, all i meant by my comment is another star died at age 27 like kurt, jimi and jim

She should have gone to rehab, yes yes yes.
As people have mentioned she was an alcho druggie it was going to happen..

Very sad news indeed, I found out whilst checking on Cadel Evans on my phone.

Yes, it isn't a suprise how she died but it doesn't make it less tradgic...

Im sorry but I don't feel sad about her death. One less junkie in the world. She had the money and support she needed to get straight but declined to take the offers. She walked straight out of rehab doors and straight into her dealers door.

I have a zero tolerance for illegal drugs. So, No sympathy from me.

Pretty close minded opinion. What if one of your close relatives became a drug addict and died of an overdose? Would you simply say "one less junkie in the world."

Learn empathy dude.

Anyone would be sad if it was one of their relatives. I would be alot less sadder if a family member of mine died of a drug overdose than of natural causes or an accident. Like I said... I have a zero tolerance for drugs. A person who tries drugs for the first time knows 2 things. 1, it is illegal. 2, Its addictive and may ultimatley kill you. I can't believe the government uses my taxes to put these low lifes through rehab, when young childrens families have to pay out 1000's apon 1000's of dollars from their own pockets for chemotherapy treatment for leaukemia.

I have empathy... I feel sorry and sad for the families and victims of crime because these junkies need money for their next hit. I feel sad for cancer sufferers who pay out 1000's of dollars for treatments only to surcome to their sickness. I feel sorry for the innocent children whos lives are ruined because their parent are useless drug addicts. I feel sorry for the parents of drug addicts who try in vein to help.

Congratulations to those who have sought help and beaten the addiction, but to those like Amy Winehouse... Meh!!!

That's a good response Blade. There's only 2 things that come to mind reading that...

1. Alcohol is legal and is responsible for everything you've mentioned other drugs do to people and often more. Just wanted to say that cause I think it often in these situations.

2, Its addictive and may ultimatley kill you

2. Depends on what drugs your talking about. Not everybody considers that a drug they take may ultimately kill them. I sure as hell didn't when I first tried pot, nor did I consider it may be addictive when I first tried it.

:)

I have no empathy or sympathy for junkies, even if reformed, once a junkie, always a junkie. She made her choices, she knew what she was doing and it killed her............lets move on and have sympathy for the real victims in the world.

I was young and dumb when it came to alcohol, but, I no longer drink alcohol because I know its harmful and it ruins lives when abused. The only reason why its legal is because the government make alot of money out of it. Yes its a drug and Its wrong. I can't stand being around people that are drunk and don't see the need why pubs and clubs want longer trading hours.

You DID know pot was an illegal drug when you first used it... I understand peer pressure. I was offered pot many times and said NO every time. So, my question is, Why?

I was 13 years old and in early High School when we were taught drug education. I knew that drugs were harmful and addictive way before that, when I was in Primary school. What age were you when you first smoked pot?

Please don't take this as an attack Carl, From my end, I think this is a constructive conversation and enjoy a good debate.

Cheers
Dennis
