I thought you were refering to Barca with that $400m debt....

yeah i was, but the likes of chelsea and united arent that much better off...technically chelsea arent in debt, but roman has the right to ask for the almost 1billion he put up when he first got there...

They are not much better off however the cash that the premier league generates from TV and merchandise is more than the spanish league. Thats how Man Utd can carry $800 million in debt and not have the same worries as Barca with $400 million debt.

Man City having a laugh at themselves - straight off the official site....

The old Manchester City rumour-mill keeps grinding away and another week of speculation has seen names old and new bandied around with some sort of abandon.

So, here we go with our latest countdown, and if you feel like slapping on that music that Alan Freeman used to play on “Pick of the Pops”, go ahead, make my day...

A further 14 mentions for Alexis Sanchez see him race away at the head of the pack with a grand total of 60 so far, although opinion is split over whether we are stepping up our pursuit, dropping our interest or whether the Chilean wants to go elsewhere.

Luka Modric was only linked twice and he trails Sanchez some distance on 24, with Wesley Schneider getting the same number. Gary Cahill and Cesc Fabregas only rated two and one mentions respectively, but this week there’s more interest in a host of new names to conjure with.

Barca’s Jeffren Suarez cropped up in a “if Sanchez does not sign” context; our defence would be bolstered by the arrivals of Stefan Savic and Aly Cissokho, and as for midfield Marko Marin, Alessio Cerci and Eden Hazard are said to be on our radar.

Caen forward M'Baye Niang is another name making its first appearance and what’s that coming over the hill, is it a monster, is it a monster? It’s Porto’s Hulk, who has been touted as another alternative to Sanchez.

And we can add a goalkeeper to our supposed list of targets - Argentinean Sergio Romero of Dutch side AZ.

Don't forget that the first place you will read official confirmation of any incomings or outgoings is right here on the official Manchester City web site - but you knew that already!

Goalkeepers: Sergio Romero (AZ Alkmaar)

Defence: Gary Cahill (Bolton), Leighton Baines (Everton), Serge Aurier (Lens), Gael Clichy (Arsenal), Jan Vertonghen (Ajax), Raphael Varane (Lens), Gareth Bale (Tottenham), Cristian Zapata (Udinese), Karim Rekik (Feyenoord), Stefan Savic (FK Partizan), Aly Cissokho (Lyon).

Midfield: Cesc Fabregas (Arsenal), Luka Modric (Tottenham), Wesley Sneijder (Inter), Juan Mata (Valencia), Jack Rodwell (Everton), Samir Nasri (Arsenal), Alessio Cerci (Fiorentina), Eden Hazard (Lille), Marko Marin (Werder Bremen).

Strikers: Alexis Sanchez (Udinese), Sergio Aguero (Atletico Madrid), Romelu Lukaku (Anderlecht), Javier Pastore (Palermo), Gonzalo Higuain (Read Madrid), Ezequiel Lavezzi (Napoli), Cristiano Ronaldo (Real Madrid), Gervinho (Lille), Edinson Cavani (Napoli), David Villa (Barcelona), Didier Drogba (Chelsea), M'Baye Niang (Caen), Hulk (Porto), Jeffren Suarez (Barcelona).

Gary Cahill not far off a move to Arsenal. Bolton knock back a £12 mil offer, expect Arsenal to return with an improved bid, possibly with some players included in the deal.

Also, Nasri tweeted a picture of his Arsenal birthday cake yesterday...

Arsenal not so far off the completion of a deal for Gary Cahill, reports now suggest that Bolton are after £17m.

De Gea to sign within the end of the week.

Liverpool to offer £8m and 2 reserves on loan to Blackpool for Charlie Adam.

where do liverpool come up with their prices? thats a ridiculous offer. they pay way too much for one player, and continue to try and under-cut blackpool for another...i hope they dont get him, just to teach them a lesson.

it seems a little pricey.. especially when Jonjo Shelvey is one of the players they are offering on loan..

pricey?!?! did you see adam play last season?! hes worth more than 8mill and some ressies. even if shelvey's one of them. hes not that good anyway...

Connor Wickham signs for Sunderland. Liverpool had a bid turned down.

Theres a player undergoing a medical at London Colney at the minute, believed to be either Cahill or Gervinho...

City are out of the Sanchez race - looks like he's off to Barca

Tomorrow is pretty soon. Barcelonas latest Fabregas bid around £35mil plus add ons. This a few hours after they re-signed Thiago and increased his buy out clause to £81mil.
Cough up Barca.

Fergie offered around £16m for Nasri.. as i said earlier, he also stated that he could pay Nasri up to £175k a week, he wants £110k from Arse and they are offering him only £90k

Looks like City tryingnto make some noise. Clichy looks like he's coming for about 7 mill - dunno much about him other than he's from Arsenal! We need someone faster down the sides, dunnoif he fits the bill. Also Nasri for 20 mill has been mentioned. Would love that! We need a bit more creation in the middle of the park and he scores as well which for some reason Silva doesn't do much...
