In response for the prosecution,
It goes with the territory. If you want to parade yourself around the way he does, talk yourself up the way he does, act the way he acts, then expect a buttload of criticism when you play like a busted hat full of horse*&(%. Yes, this is Dwayne Wade's team, but LeBron is the big man on campus in the eyes of everyone else. He stroked himself saying he was going to Miami to win championships (7 was it??), He held the TV special, he made the world wait, he was quite willing to have everyone "LOOK AT ME!!!" for the better part of three or four months, so, people are going to expect an insanely high standard.
In the last two rounds, he has destroyed Boston, his play against CHicago I will say I was fortunate enough to witness as it was simply amazing. Causing Pippen to say what he did (which we all know was way off the mark). Now, on the biggest stage of all, against the best team in the West, with the first of 7 supposed championships on the line, he has disappeared when it mattered most. How can the pseudo greatest player our game has ever seen score just 8 points in a finals game?? Expect flak if youre going to put up those sort of numbers, expect ALOT of Flak.
Heres a snnippett from NBA.COM
In "the biggest game of my life," James notched a Game 5 triple-double although once again his fourth quarter was uneventful. He had two badly missed shots, was called for charging and played poor defense against Jason Terry on a play that led to a Jason Kidd killer 3-pointer. Plus, he has missed 10 of his last 11 shots from 3-point range and his confidence from long distance seems shot.
Yes he responded with a triple double, but the Heat still lost. And if you look at why they lost it had very little to do with the big 3. Lebum - 17,10,10, Bush 19,10, D-Wood - 23,8. If all you saw was the stat sheets you'd think, "Oh yeh, another easy win to the Heat huh?" But maybe, this game has shown that even when these three perform, which they all did wuite well in game 5, the time honoured catch phrase "A team of champions doesnt make a champion team". Dallas depth may just have these three covered.
And to finish on Lebum, I think he is currently in a no win situation at the moment. If Dallas win this in 6 the story will be how he faded out in this finals series. If Miami win it will be all about how D-Wood elevated his own game. Unless he does something extraordinary in these last two games, the story will be how Lebum was simply Robin to his Batman, with Bush possibly playing Batgirl or Alfred.
