Ask Matty (Garnettfan) what snipe program he uses, he's helped me snipe a few times and it seems to work well :thumbsup:
 
Unfortunately Murray has put a lot of cash into those Nash cards and I can say from experience that he will have to cut most of the prices in half if he wants to get close to what they are actually selling for. Example, he has a card for a BIN of $129 and its selling for $50 odd...well the last few have.

He has always paid big dollars for Nash and is deciding to get out now. An awesome collection nonetheless!

lol didn't you know there's a huge card industry in Antartica.

What i've been watching is my paypal and bank balance slowly dissolve over the past few days on ebay :(
 
i use 'bidnip' sniping website..

i've never had a drama with it.. use bid time of 3 secs.. its works well.. your have to buy snipes via paypal tho..
i think you can get 50 for $20..

which is not much really.. i've saved $100's by using this.. and for the auctions that finish at 2am or when im at work...

off topic, but how does sniping save you money? if you put the same max bid in a sniping prog as you would your normal initial bid, then youre going to get the item for the same price...
it only works in beating people who sit there and put in tiny bid rises at a time...
unless you dont know what your max bid will be? which youd need to know anyway for a sniping prog.

EDIT: actually if you put a max bid of lets say $40 in a sniping prog, and i put a normal max bid of $40 as my initial, i will win the item, not the sniper.

i work in a factory (as an electrician) and i cant get access thru the day, so if i have to put my max bid in 4 hours before the card finishes, others get a chance to put bids in right up to/over my bid.. it also avoid seller shill bidding..

as far as your $40 example, i never use round figures. if i wanted a bid of $40, i would enter $41.73.. no one is gunah enter the same amount, and the extra $1.73 will cover the bid above $40.

i use it when i cant get to a PC to put the bid on myself..

but you have to put a max bid in the snipe prog anyway...so theres no difference in just putting in the same max bid normally.

I'm of the same school of thought. I don't want to get into bidding wars and blow my budget, so I set my max bid and leave it at that.

how people still dont know how or why to use a sniping program is beyond me....your bid wont beat the sniper if its not done before it...if the sniper is set for a 1 sec last bid and you press bid with 1.5 seconds YOU WONT WIN. sniping doesnt save you money it saves you time. I NEVER bid on items anymore my sniper does it all for me. the only way it would look as if its saving you money is if your max bid is 500 and the card sells for 250, its not saving you money, you're just winning it for less than what you were to initially pay. and theres a bit of a problem with jared_davey's comment on putting in a max bid 4 hours prior and people bidding up to it. that shouldnt be an issue if you're prepared to pay what the card is worth or overpay if you want it and your sniper doesnt go in until the last second anyway so they cant bid up to your max bid because it hasnt gone in...you've just under-evaluated the card if that stuff happens and that stuff SHOULDNT happen if you know what you're doing.....you dont use a sniper if you want to try and get something cheap or hope for the best!....my snipes go on the moment the card goes up (6-9 days in advance!) it find it hard to fathom that people cant get their heads around sniping programs...set your max and sit back and watch the cards come in!

It's actually kinda both - if you bid early it gives shillers and other stupid bidders (you know, the ones who bid up in small increments until they take the lead) ample opportunity to drive up the price and/or beat you out. However if you snipe and bid at the last second, there isn't this opportunity.
Yes, sniping saves you time, but it can also save you from paying more than you might otherwise.
