I think that's a credit to the NRL collectors, it shows they aren't thick enough to buy the same Champions series again and again, year after year.

I think that's a credit to the NRL collectors, it shows they aren't thick enough to buy the same Champions series again and again, year after year.
The problem with that is until Select decide to change the cards there may not be a series 2 unless series 1 sells well enough ...Maybe I am wrong and I hope I am but that is how it looks to me .......I sell probably 5 to 10 times more NRL than AFL so I am certainly hoping for a series 2 in the NRL ....
I can't see that being the case since they have chosen all the glamour clubs for sigs. With the Double Trouble the original run was only 4 or 6 wasn't it? And with clubs like Canberra in the first run there were plenty of other Sydney teams for the second set.
No Melbourne, Canberra, Newcastle, Warriors, Cowboys, Titans, Sharks and Bulldogs = choosing teams with they think will sell.
No I'm not joking you can put your house on it that the 8 sign are as stated previously.
The only problem being it is going to be hard to get a complete masters set without spending big bucks like you do in the 2nd series
You've got to remember that Select have a small window to get these signatures & it is always the player & his agent that dictated the terms & $$$$$ so if they want to much or can't be avaiable to sign cards in Selects time frame then Select pick another player 
You will have 8 up and coming lower named players ....The packets are only $2.95 so you won`t get any high profile players ....Other cards will include Rookie Sensation , Gems , commons and Holofoil cards NOT THE JERSEY CARDS from previous years ....
