thats the beauty of boards young one, everyone has an opinion. And if that was meant to ask if i respected anyone else's opinion, then yes i do, i just like to bantar and share my views. Sometimes im off the cuff because i like getting reactions, but i never personally attack people and i always let people have their say.

Anyway, back to the actual thread.. I am a non-believer, and it would actually have to take me experiencing something to change that view. It's not that im not open to the idea, i just don't believe it right now. Keep posting though as it's better then reading the 10000 Jordan threads we used to have ;)


EDIT: Just read the metalhead bit, and in my experience, metalheads are pretty close minded hehe.

haha, it harbours special powers.. but they are not alien.

My housemate is a huge Alien/UFO believer, we have these discussions pretty often (about believing, not my beard) I just can't take it as fact untill i experience something that can sway me, and videos on the net aren't going to do it.

yes and no. Closed minded to crap music perhaps, but open to some unconventional ways of thinking. Just look at the entire Black Metal scene... particularly the early Norwegian days.

Anyway, I respect your opinion. Would be nice if we had some concrete evidence to back up either theory.

Neither can I. It is impossible for live not to exist elsewhere.

I don't mind people saying they haven't visited earth because we really don't have any solid proof. Hell the distance to travel could mean no species will ever visit anyone. ATM it takes months to get to Mars, who knows if space travel at light speed is possible in practice.

Alien = anyone illegally in another country. Illegal Mexicans in America = Aliens = REAL.
Alien = from space is just another life form which is def real.
UFO = unidentified flying object. SO a secret military plane counts = REAL.
GHOST = who knows. Not much solid evidence.

Solar Systems - there are squillions of them. A solar system is like our own, from the Sun out to Pluto and a few comets and asteroids that float around near Pluto (even though Pluto is no longer classified a planet).

Galaxy - many many solar systems make up a Galaxy. We are part of the Milky Way, one of the largest galaxies that we have discovered thus far.

Universe - everything. All the galaxies put together make up the Universe.

Lets put it in terms that relate to the NBA. The ball is a planet. The players on the court is the solar system. The stadium is the galaxy. The entire NBA is the universe.

what are they teaching you kids at school these days?
 
How do we know there is only one universe? Isn't it possible there is more than one we just havn't seen the end of this one :D

Thats the thing. No matter how far we travel and how much we discover or how far the universe extends its still only one universe. Its not like they have a border patrol. The only way to have more than one is with alternate dimensions, which is basically still the same universe.

How do you know what you saw wasnt a spacecraft? I could well have been.

Ive seen two lights zoom around in the sky they looked like stars because so far away.

It was either a space battle or star exploding or two galaxies colliding. Which obviously happened millions of years ago due to the the time it takes light to reach us.

It looked pretty cool at the time.

haha more effort then I would put into explaining it. After all tha tis what school is meant to be for.
