A little off topic but "1999 UEFA Champions League Final-- Bayern Munich 1 Man United 2-- THE Greatest Match in History" that makes me laugh.

ok maybe it wasn't the greatest match in history, but it is my favourite and better than anything Liverpool could do.. ;)

so we are talking about CL now are we?

Come back to me when you win as many FA Cups as us, Premier Leagues as us (EPL/FA PL) and lets not forget the Club World Cup in 2008 :D

Beaten at your own game :)

Well it was your CL line that i quoted. How many Leagues have you won? 18? same as us? I'd rather win the CL then the FA cup.

Gerrard deserved everything he got.. an extremely dodgy tackle, two legged studs up tackle from behind deserves a red. If Wayne Rooney did that and got sent off i would of said the same thing, i am not being bias.

United still aren't at their best though...

Mate not sure what tackle you are referring to but Gerrard came in from the side not from behind. I'm not saying it not worthy a red, technically it is, but i've seen them let go with a warning before too. I don't know about extremely dodgey either, i'd say he came in about 0.00001 secs after the united player. Was just poor technique. Hardly touched the united player. If the united player had came in that fraction late he would have been the one sent off.

Ummmmmmmmmmm how about the 2005 Champions league final. Coming back from 3-0 down at half time to win the game. Think it has a little bit more quality about it.

@lesmurraysoccer just tweeted:
At Liverpool airport, John Lennon statue has the inscription 'Above us only sky.' Someone has written next to it: 'Below us only West Ham.'

Hey don't shoot the messenger...

He must be kidding himself surely..

La Liga is the best in the world and Premier League can learn from it

It is a 2 team league! Only 2 teams can win it (being a bit harsh on Valencia and Athletico i know) but it is a league with two powerhouses with all the money in the world.

And on the World XI, the players came from 3 different teams, two of those spanish teams (Barcelona and Real). They are the powerhouses, i'm not surprised the best player in the world (Messi) is scoring hatricks every game against sides that would barely match up to English Championship sides... All of these players who featured in this World XI play in teams that simply dominate their opposition..

The EPL features the best quality sides in the world, even the worse teams in the league can pull off a win against the powerhouses.. it makes it more exciting doesn't it? As Andy Gray said late last year, teams like Barcelona would struggle to cope in the Premier League, due to its speed and conditions..

It's funny Warney, United has played average for most of the season and no one's beaten them!! City has also copped a lot of criticism, especially after the 0-0 at Arsenal where they defended so much, yet they're 2nd and have scored more goals than Spurs (boring boring city?) and have the best defense in the league! I think this could well go down to the wire. City have certainly been better than I expected and the addition of Dzecko (who apparently was excellent in his debut) might make it even closer!!

City have not won a trophy since I was 3.......I started supporting them when I was 8...and I'm now 37....fingers crossed......

Just thank god you're not a Liverpool fan like me ha ha ha ha

Yeah spot on. I just can't believe we are unbeaten yet, especially as we have had a very average season. But in saying this, if they keep it up they can win the Premier League.
I don't think we have played terribly, the wins have been clean ones (apart from a couple notably Brom) but the draws have just killed us.

Watched some of Dzeko's debut last week and he was great. When he got transferred i thought it would take him ages to get used to English Football, but from the looks of him he's a quick learner and suits the pace of football and the conditions in england.

Pretty pissed off that Liverpool sold Ryan Babel, Its a pity he never got given a decent run this season. Very skillful player.

with AFL Dreamteam coming up, was thinking we could do something similar for the Premier League. Who would be your Best EPL XI be based on CURRENT FORM?

Mine would look like this.

4-4-2

GK: Hart/Foster- Too hard to choose between. Hart has been excellent after his return from the Blues. Foster has been excellent since he arrived at the Blues. Given can say goodbye to City, after he was the one to send Hart on his way to the Blues on Loan. Foster was a bench warmer for season after season at United, and with Hart's departure at the Blues there was a big role to fill. And he has done it well. For the point of this exercise, Hart gets a 9.5 and Foster a 9.

RB: Sagna- Not many Right-Backs to choose from. Sagna is probably the best Right-Back in the comp.
CB: Vidic- Best Defender by far this season (personally) Looked solid but late goals have been the issue for the United defence
CB: Kompany- Haven't seen much of him this season but from reports he has been solid at the back, and is quick across the ground compared to other Defenders in the EPL.
LB: Evra- Not many players again to pick from, A Cole has had a shocker so Evra has won this one just. Has looked good this season but could always improve.

RM: Nani- United look weak without him, on top of the goal assists board on 11.
CM: Cahill- Needed to restrict the Spud Love so VDV just missed out. 9 Goals and 4 assists, clearly the Toffee's main man this season.
CM: Nasri- 9 goals for Nasri so far in the season, possibly the best player in the Premiership form wise..
LM: Bale- One of the most wanted players in England, let alone the world. Showed up players including Maicon and Evra. For a LM pretty consistent scoring, with 7 goals scored in the EPL.

ST: Tevez- Star Player. 14 Goals and 5 Assists, winning games almost single handedly for the Citizens.
ST: Berbatov- Last season United fans called to dump the Bulgarian, but luckily they decided against it. Has stepped up this season in place of Rooney and is equal top on the Golden Boot with 14 to his name.

Narrowly missing out. Nolan, Carroll, Van der Vaart, Malouda, Vermaelen, Scholes.

Mine: See Arsenal first XI
nah I'll have a think... you seem to have two Evras there Warney, and the Verminator hasn't played since August?
