nba 2k11 - my player

Really? I'm getting ripped off if it's supposed to be one a week then. I've gone 5-6 games before without a drill being added.

Well I haven't actually paid a heap of attention  But it kind of felt like 1 per week? However since you've seemingly taken alot more notice, I'm likely wrong!

Nice, does anybody know about the ndorsements if it just ends with a Billboard and Magazine cover or if there is more??

No idea mate. I've only got the one Billboard but I've only played 10 games.

Rated 53 overall, 6'5" athletic style shooting guard.

Averaging 22 PPG (leading all rookies) and 3.6 APG (2nd among all rookies). Started off with OKC (drafted 26th in 1st round) but requested a trade because James Harden seemed to have a firm hold on the starting SG spot. I've now gone to Utah where I only have to beat out the old man Raja Bell ;)

My minutes are up to 29 per game so with a few more solid games I should be able to start in the backcourt with D-Will :)

I think theres still the signature shoe then another billboard and that might be it..

Anymore tips on which stats to increase so my overall would go up quicker? Ive already maxed out Def/Off awareness

No idea Kenny. I'd need to knwo what your other ratings are! I'm a 75 Rated 6'3 SG though having only played 29 games. I'll go back to it soon I'm sure.

So i am 7 games in with the Grizzlies (2-5), not the greatest start and I am a SF so i am sitting behind Rudy Gay.

I dont want to trade but i might have to, i am getting like 22 minutes off the bench, I am 6th man, and i am averageing like 15ppg 4rpg 1apg

I want to win rookie of the year, so the only question i have is will I be able to do that coming off the bench, or should i trade to get a starting spot

I was going to request a trade in the off season

Also, is there any chance at all i could steal the starting spot of the 82 million dollar man??

I'd suggest you keep going and the team will find time for you. I'm a SG in the Kings, behind Tyreke Evens! However they sub me in 2mins into the game every game and give me ~35mins off the bench at mostly the 3, and sometimes the 2. Fortunately the Kings best SF is rated 66...so I spose they can find room. But the Griz have Gay and Mayo...Hmmm... Might be best to trade?

spewin

I'll stick with it for 15-20 more games, see if I can get a rookie of the month, if I cant then i will trade

I believe you win alot of skill points for Rookie of the year / month and any other awards so its fairly important i dare say

Am i right in believing that if you complete 2-3 seasons (which would take a fair bit of time) you would easily be rated 99 due to all the skill points you'd gain??

I think you'd be right! The way I'm going I reckon I'd be pretty close to 90 by the end of season 1! Same was the case in 2k10. I had my PF up to 84 overall 60 games into the season before I got bored  This year, I'm already 75 after only 29 games...

Damn, oh well its still fun, try and win a championship and then move onto the Jordan Challenges

How does the Sim Games work in my player

I notice if you start a game you can sim to the end of the game, Id be interested to know if you score and what your team mate rating is??

To make getting too good go slower and the season shorter maybe i should sim 20 - 30 games a season?? only play the big games or something, anyone experienced the simming yet??

better yet, can you sim a game from the schedule screen, and if you do, are your stats still sufficient enough for you not to get booted off the team or lose your role within the team??

Not sure on simming, haven't tried ever.

As for Jordan Challenges, Finished :D Tried a couple of the "Creating a Legend" games too which is My Player but with MJ as a rookie in todays NBA.

Now that sounds preety cool

So is MJ rated lowly and you have to get skill points to build him up??

Is he on the bulls team or does he go throught he draft combine my players style??

I tell ya thats some decent motivation to get the Jordan challengers out of the way

I am going to try the simming thing tonight, make the season go quicker and hopefully make my player improve at a normal rate, becaus ei must admit, if you are rated 90 odd by the end of the 1st season that is pretty odd

was there an option to have the season only 41 games and the playoff series shorter or something in my player mode??

MJ is rated as he is in the 1st Challenge, 78. He's like he was in real life, an athletic SG with decent mid range but not alot of outside shooting. So yes, you get skill points, but you start off at 78 rating :)

He's on whatever team you choose to play him on! It starts up and you get to choose where MJ is playing/for which NBA team. I chose the 76ers cause they're my team :D So Iggy has been relegated to the bench

Nice it will be fantastic to see MJ in a lakers uniform!!

Actually, maybe not, I dont think Kobe or MJ will be happy with a Bench spot??

Just convinced another mate to go out and buy NBA 2k11

seriously this is quickly becoming my no.1 game of all time, even better than CM2 96/97 which currently holds no.1 spot

it will be even better if this simming thing works out for me tonight

Ive maxed out mid range, shoot off dribble and shoot off traffic. Right now Im trying to get my dunking up, but it doesnt help my rating at all....

What are you rated overall?

It's pretty easy man. The overall rating is an average of all your ratings. So some of them which are more expensive when they increase only increase by little bits (e.g. speed and 3 pointers) and they won't increase your overall that much.

Upgrade the cheapest ones and you will get higher.

Im at 81 right now, I didnt know it was just the average, will try to up some cheaper stats now :D

first round pick 26 with okc (then asked for a trade) ended up in Golden State. Im a 6'7 PG lol.. trying to be the next magic johnson taken over steph currys starting position.. lol have since I was only on a 56 rating or something.. Im only 61 rating atm but have only played 39 games.. and playing only on all star diff. leading the rookie race with:

12.1 ppg , 5.7 rpg, 5.5 apg..

Well I'm not 100% sure it's the average but I think it would be - I can't see how else they would do it.

When I was trying to up my 3 point average my overall rating didn't move at all, but when I did off & def awareness and increased each by like 8-10 each my overall rating jumped 3 up!

Loving My Player atm by the way guys.

Drafted by the Thunder, but wanted to try out the trade thing so got dealt to the Jazz - who are unfortunately only just at the bottom of the West playoff standings.

I saw that Denver was interested in me (and they were 10-4 at the time and #2 in the West) so I requested a deal to them, but by the time I got dealt the "teams interested in me" had changed and I got dealt to Portland.

I was a bit frustrated with that because Denver have no good SG's and I would be playing SG in between Chauncey and with Melo on the other wing. I'm also 18 games in and have become a starter averaging 35 minutes per game and I figured in Portland I'd get no time behind Brandon Roy.

Anyway I played my first game with Portland today and logged time at PG/SG/SF and ended up with 34 points, 9 dimes and 2 steals. After the game I was pleasantly surprised to see that the Blazers moved Patty Mills out of the starting lineup, shifted Brandon Roy to PG and put me in SG for the future!

I figure I'll stay because it'd be cool to be in the backcourt with Roy and two big guards (Roy is like 6'5? and I'm 6'4"). Prior to me arriving in Portland they also dealt Bayless & Andre Miller for David Lee, so we have Lee, Aldridge & Camby in the frontcourt!

Stoked. The Blazers are also 11-5 and #3 in the West so I'm glad to be starting for them. Think I'll stick it out with them now till the end! Rated 56 overall 18 games in with 9 min quarters.
