nba 2k11 - my player

Its probably because shooting when you're first starting out is really hard, try increasing mid range shot or layup, should make the game a lot easier.

I play 12 minute quarters and have it on Hall of Fame? Or whatever the highest difficulty is! I average just over 18 points in 32 mins, 8ish rebound, 4 being offense and leading the league, 3.7 assists and about a block a game.

Might have to try a game or 2 on HOF difficulty then, the game isnt that fun right now.. Do you get more SP on higher difficulties?

Finally cracked open my game (finished exams today hello 4 month holiday :)) Been playing for 3 hours now going to bed. Got through the Draft Combine, the new closing off of the paint and isomotion had me stumped in the first game tried to force it ended up D+ for the game. Turned it around with 2 good performances tho in the remaining games, inc 31 points, 6 boards and 4 assists in the third game.

Ended up getting drafted 26th overall by the Thunder. Not bad cause I'm an athletic 6'5" SG and the Thunder have Harden/Sefolosha at SG so hopefully I can take over from them. Other teams around were New Jersey (yuck) and Memphis (cool team but no way I can beat out OJ Mayo).

Gonna play Summer Circuit tmrw!

man theres some stats in here, im averaging 36 but crap on rebounds and assists, how do i get better at those? if i dont drop around 40 a game we dont win, the jazz are sh!te, we need a tips/hints section! im on pro difficulty atm, played 24 games, got the mj endorsement and billboard, no where to be seen in the all star voting though, dont think the fans like me

Agreed. Apart from scoring my guy doesn't do jack. And I try for rebounds but I'm too short. I get 3 or 4 lucky ones a game hahah.

I'm an all-rounder SF and average 18+ points 8+ boards and 4+ assists at the moment. The averages have been climbing fast though, my last game was a 26-9-11.

How do you operate pick and roll from the wing position? When I get subbed in as PG I can call the play and it works great. But when I'm SG and I hit L1 to call for a screener, he comes up and after I go around him he doesn't roll to the basket and just stands there....

No worries I figured out how to use the pick and roll properly now.

Beating out Harden may take a while. I'm the 7th man in the rotation and I started with only 12 minutes per game, now I'm up to 20.

I've played 4 games, in my debut I scored 8 points and barely got on the court. 6 minute quarters but seeing as I play less than 1/3 of the game I increased it to 9 minute quarters.

In my fourth game I went off for 25 points and 11 assists, ending up being named player of the game.

So far I'm averaging 17.7 PPG and 3.5 APG. It's really easy to cheese by running back on the break when a shot goes up and then calling for the fullcourt outlet pass. I've done it a few times ;)

Yeah that cheese is far too easy...I make a point of not doing that at all cause it's simply not basketball...IMO anyhow. Thanks for the tip on the pick and roll Jimbo! Didn't know I could call for a play not as the PG! That should make things easier :)

However, I haven't played My Player for a while now...kinda got bored. Was a 6'3 SG 6th man for the Kings averaging 33mins a game, 29ppg, 4rpg, 6apg, 1spg and 5 3s per game! Got 31? games into the season.

coming 2nd in rookie of the year so far, john wall still remaining 1st, only the start of regular season so will meet some leaps and bounds through the season that may affect my spot. I really want this 2k11 platinum trophy, only a few ones to go and they are all online and multiplayer.

Gday Guys

been reading this forum all morning, a week ago i borrowed a mates ps3, played 2k10 and got hooked, but got frustrated with the bugs

went last nigth and brought 2k11 on PC.

Love the game

So far I am a scoring 6ft 6in small forward, went through draft combine at A-, got drafted pick 25 by Memhis, which i am a little dissapointed in but thats ok, reading these forums have been a real help, got a few quick questions though:

Someone mentioned taking skill points of shooting and putting it on dunk, can you remove skill points once they have been added to an attribute??

I am having trouble driving the lane for a layup, is this because i am only rated 49 at the moment?? my layup is up to like 68, but is it just a situation where i should just worry about shooting jumpers until i get better??

any thoughts and tips would be helpful guys

Loving this my player mode, havent even played the jordan or association yet

It is alot more difficult than 2k10 already, more challengeing which is great

You can take skill points off but i think you only get 75% of the skill points back compared to what they cost you to put on.

As a scoring SG, definetly get that medium jump shot up and shoot of dribble rating up too for step backs. Can get most of your shooting up cheaply by using your drills on shooting.

Cool

the drills are interesting, I usually use them up straight away, do you get more during the season??

I have 2 drills left which I will use 2nite when I get home, but then they will be at 0

how often do you get your drills refreshed??

But your right, it seems for my next 15 odd games i should just concentrate on hitting the jumpshot and worrying about defence, which seems to be where i lose all my teammate grading from

esoecially as a sf, manning up the opps small forward can be a hard task, the last game of the Combine i had w.johnson drop 52pts on me, i got 33pts but it affetcted my rating big time!!

You do get extra drills added during the season. I haven't quite worked out what they are based on but it seems to be roughly every two weeks.
