Just wanted to post an example of poor etiquette from an ebay buyer. Here is the dialogue:

Dear sjay2k,

hey bud i won that [card] still
havent recived it just wonderin thats all thanks.

Okay fair enough, so I reply:

Hi thanks for letting me know. I sent your two cards from the Kenmore post office on either the 28th or 29th September. Normally they arrive within a couple of days, but sometimes it can take a little longer. Can you let me know if it doesn't show up by say Monday? I know it's annoying when your eBay item doesn't arrive quickly, so please have my apologies. Scott.

Then today I get these in my email:

Dear sjay2k,

dude just issue a reffund couse i still havent got
that card man i ordered stuff from hong kong and i
recived that today i bought your card the same day
just refund pls i never had this before man i ve
bought heaps of cards go look at my rating i dont
play games mate ok refund.

and regarding the other card he won:

Dear sjay2k,

still havent recived this either.......???????

I will send this guy a refund because it's the right thing to do, but the drop off in the level of civility over such a tiny thing is a little saddening.

Sidenote, I've never had a piece of mail missing in over 400 online transactions.

His grasp of the English language is sadly lacking.
I have 2 packages that are either lost in transition or were never sent.
So I know exactly how it feels, doesn't mean manners go out the window.

screw him I say, if he was civil then work out a refund, but being so rude I would just tow the no refunds for unregistered mail policy.

I have had things go missing as both a buyer and sender and I will always refund because I understand the plight, but in this case I would think twice.

Mmm I'm not sure if I'd refund just yet...I've had packages from USA take 5 days to get to me and a really important card (1/1) I only recieved yesturday which took a little over a month. Who know's with postage sometimes its quick as and then gets lost/tied up at some locations other times and not once did I ask him about it but the postage stamp was all good with being sent a couple days after purchase

Yeah I think I'll just refund this guy, the cards totalled $12 or something silly. Unfortunately I already gave him a positive feedback when he paid too.

Mate if he is in the USA it can take anywhere from 10 - 24 days , how long has he waited???? , Don't cave in on him because he will receive his cards and i bet the tool won't tell you and send the paypal back .

Can i have this guys ebay user name as i want to block them just in case .

You have just given a very good example of the downside of Ebay. You get clowns like that buying cards, extremely impatient and expecting unreasonable service. I'm not sure if you noticed (or everybody else that uses Ebay in this matter) is that with Ebay high fees, it is no longer viable to sell low-end cards, basically anything less than $20 is not worth my time. Use your transaction as an example, you sold the card for $12, the combined Ebay and Paypal fee would be about $3 (or 25% of purchased price), I'm pretty certain nobody would want to pay a $47EMS fee or even a $12 registered mail fee. Then when the card does really get misplaced, there is so much agony for both the seller and buyer. I have given up on Ebay 3 years ago on low-end cards already and have never looked back. I strongly believe OCT forum is the best way of distributing low-end cards, even if I have to give it away for free on this forum. Penny for thought. Cheers Alex

Gee Alex your point is well made about paypal fees, but now you want a penny for your thoughts??? Not sure I can send that, sorry. ;)

Send him to check with his local P.O. first....I've had a few packages turn-up at the P.O. that either haven't been carded or the card has disappeared......worth a try before giving up!!

Most of the stuff on eBay I buy are low end...most have been good. I'm with you mate, I'll always do my best to find stuff off here but sometimes there are some simple things people just don't have...:(

Yeah I would probably try this with a higher dollar value item.

I think I might put a new note in my templates offering the option of registered mail, to avoid having to eat the cost of the item like I have here.

And good post anakinleo, the listing and fees prices are absurd for lower scale stuff.

LOL, so the cards arrived (of course), as I received the following further gem in my inbox last week:

Dear sjay2k,

Amusing/scary that he can't scrape $12 together. Yeah I think I'll be blocking this guy from future auctions.
