yeah it's one of those matches that are unpredictable. The fans seemed to be going made late in the game so maybe they felt the pressure.. But nevertheless well done from Everton.

Chelsea are up after 1 minute against West Ham... Essien:(

chelsea had a soft shot or throughball that was too longs(couldn't tell). Green somehow got down on all 4s and pushing the ball a metre forward allowing chelsea to score

24 passes before Vela's goal, with exquisite pass from Fabregas to finish. Good result and the new players all played well, except for some bad marking when the goal was conceded. And a quick stat, you might do well to put a bet on real madrid to go undefeated at home in la liga this season. Jose mourinho hasnt lost a home game in the league since february 2002 with porto. Great stat that

Man there's been some injuries!!! City bought 6 players this off season - One (Boateng) never got on the park - 2 others played less than 40 mintues before 6 week type injuries. Then the Spuds have lost about 3 or 4 guys, the Arse have lost some stars (again) and today Rag Valencia out for the season! When will it end???

Saturday's Results;

West Brom 3-1 Birmingham
Two goals from Odemwingie saw West Brom finish off Birmingham in style.

Tottenham 3-1 Wolves
Wolves' goal on the brink of half-time wasn't enough, Spurs scoring three late goals (very, very late)

Blackburn 1-1 Fulham
Despite scoring a scrapy goal, Blackburn desrved three points and Fulham were lucky to escape with one.

Stoke 1-1 West Ham
A cracker of a game saw many shots hit the woodwork and delivered the Hammer's first point of the season.

Aston Villa 1-1 Bolton
A well-fought game ended in a draw after Villa took the early lead with a free kick from Young

Everton 0-1 Newcastle
Everton continued their poor form this season against a Newcastle outfit now into 5th place.

Arsenal 1-1 Sunderland
Bent striked late to deny Arsenal three points and to be honest, they desrved it.

And finally......

When BBC Sport were doing the live scores for Tottenham v Wolves, they accidentally wrote "Fabio Capello is not with the Pope - he is enduring this match - I bet he wishes Gareth Bale was injured to make it an entertaining match"

Instead of Gareth Bale was English.

Very solid defence against the Black Cats, who played well all night. Cesc possibly out for a month with a hammy after his freak goal. Never like conceding in the 5th minute of 4 minutes of injury time...

anyway, big league cup tie now, hopefully Wenger doesn't just play the young blokes against the Tiny Totts. Can't wait for this one

ah not much to say. could of been 5-0 at halftime. Wilshere getting better and better each game. Only downside Gibbs injury to another metatarsal, hopefully short term, for all his talent he needs some luck. apart from that, great start to the day...
FOREVER IN OUR SHADOW...

Quality avatar there Dinga! Wish there was a Spurs fan here to crank it up a bit. :woot:

As a City fan I'm a bit concerned about our season - before the weekend the only team we'd stuffed was relegation threatened Liverpool - definitely concerned when all we've beaten are bottom feeders......worrying times....=D>=D>:lol:

Seriously - will be interesting to judge City AND Chelski this weekend. They've scored goals for fun against crap teams - we've let in 2 goals in 8 games - 1 was a **** penalty and the other was a massive keeping cockup.
We did the double on them last year including a 4-2 stuffing at Scumford Bridge - should be a cracker. We do better against teams who attack us (Liverpool tried - honestly they did - lost 3-0) it's the teams that sit back that City have trouble with. Chelski won't be sitting back so should make for a great game. I'm picking 2-1 City.

mate there prob is a few, not something you'd admit to though in a public forum I wouldn't of thought :p

Yeh Chelsea and City should be a cracker, hopefully City give em a touch up. Chelski haven't beaten anyone yet either...

great Carling Cup results for United last night!

United beat S****horpe 5-2 with a reserves team (at least close to the reserves team)

Chelsea lost to Newcastle 4-3
And Liverpool drew 2-2 but lost on penalties

So Liverpool and Chelsea have been knocked out third round of the Carling Cup!
