The problem is that LeBron is only 25 and has run off to Miami to chase a ring - had he been 31, 32 and given his all while in his prime with Cleeveland and come up short with still no ring, people would understand him chasing the ultimate prize elsewhere. He had the scenario that all superstars dream about - go to a crap team, build a franchise totally around you, get them to being a top 5 team in the league, reach your absolute prime at 25.....then bale on a small town franchise that lives and breathes you 24/7 and be 2nd string to Wade at Miami???
None of the greats would have done that. Heck, Jordan was 28 before he won a championship! Imagine Bird running off to LA to be with Kareem and Magic because he couldn't get the job done himself? Bird would not be rated as highly as he is now.
LeBron needed to prove that he could beat the best to be the best - instead he has joined the best to "do what was right for LeBron James". If he really thought long and hard about the "LBJ legacy" he would have stayed in Cleveland until he hit 30 and if he still had no ring then reassessed - not turn his back at only 25yo.
He won't like what guys like Barkley and Reggie Miller are saying about him right now
Its been awhile since I last posted here and it seems alot has change.
I have read alot of post in this thread and most of it are hating/disliking Lebron for what he decided to do in his life. I am sure that most of you have flaws, too...
I have followed the Cavs for 5 years and I have seen alot of funny things happened in that organisation and I'm convinced that they are not as good as alot of people think.
Just wait and see how the Miami Heat runs their offense. I'm sure alot of you will enjoy Miami's game from now on. I hope 10HD gets alot of Miami Heat games this coming season so I can watch alot of exciting games of basketball...
I was quoting you - on how you were saying the Lakers didn't manage to win it when they had those guys.
And I'm saying to you, it's not the same situation. Malone and Payton were only half as good as they were in their prime. The three guys who the Heat just got are all in the middle of their prime and probably at the stage where they will be playing the highest level of basketball they are capable of.
If the Lakers in 03/04 had got Malone and Payton when they were in their prime they would have won the championship no questions asked.
If that's not what you meant than sorry, but that's how I read it.

jimbo.. if your reading this .. again I agree with bjs127 here. thats all I meant just didnt explain as good
Well after thinking about it for a little while, Bron is still a first rate knob (has just managed to surpass Kobe which i thought was impossible).
we saw something similar at the laker not long ago, payton, malone, kobe, shaq etc... too many stars, no team! lets hope this doesnt happen to the heat!
remember when malone and payton teamed up with the lakers to run for the 4th championship in a row (and there first).. it never happened yet on that list it had arguably the 5 best players of there position back then... and I won't be surprised if the same occurs.. Im actually hoping it does
Why would anyone want to move to Miami with all its awesome beaches and hot babes when you could stay in the beautiful city of Cleavland?
What was he thinking?
First of all lets cut the "three superstars business". Bosh will be Bosh. He's not a superstar, he's just a star.
He'll do what he has to do, and won't feel left out because he's the "best big man" on the team - an encouraging way of saying you're not as good as Bron or Wade but you are still important.
He'll get like 18/12 per game or something like that.
Wade I'm thinking 25/5/5 and LeBron maybe 22-23/8/9-10.
If the Washington Wizards could have 3 players averaging 20+ ppg a few seasons back (Caron, Gilbert, Antawn) and they did it a few seasons if I'm not mistaken, there's no reason the Heat can't.
and yet Washington did not win the championship, so this is irrelevant.
lebron sucks. please don't compare this new trio to the aging trio of boston or the superstar lakers from the early 70s and mid 80s. at least boston sent some quality players and picks the other way when acquiring old fogies garnett and allen. there were less teams in the early 70s and less money as well. same with the 80s. miami got two superstar franchise players for zilch. cleveland and toronto will be reeling for years to come because they weren't even given the opportunity to start again with draft picks/a star player in return. that is the real crime.
