1. still cant believe he actually went to miami, didnt think he was actually gonna do it. what an easy option out for him. i dont like it. hated the fact he had to do a live 1hr show to air it all... crap
2. wheres the challenge bron? i reckon this confirms brons lack of a killer instinct and inner drive that people have been talking about for years... as one of the si.com writers wrote, no other nba superstar free agent has ever done what lebron has just done... abandoned not only the team that invested in him but more importantly he abandonded the challenge of lifting a team off the floor when they drafted him and trying to get them over the hump to win an nba title. jordan, magic, bird, isaiah, kobe never would have done this. they had too much pride and self belief. i think differently of bron now after his decision.
3. Dan Gilbert absolutely lost it! that letter of his was MEGA. i didnt think that was called for but to his credit, he has publicly voiced exactly what everyone else has been thinking!
4. i reckon everyone has forgotten the cavs in this whole thing... they would not only be shellshocked but absolutely devastated and angry as they know they are going nowhere fast now. kiss the playoffs goodbye.

When I said Miami got rid of Cook and hat would you rather? Cook or Bron? What a team. Been going for Heat and Bulls from when I was little (Long time ago) and they look a great team now. Also go for Thunder. All 3 are in great positions!

I totally agree dude, im not a lebron hater.. (in fact he's one my favourite players of all time).. but what you said cannot be said any better.. dissapointing to say the least.. remember when malone and payton teamed up with the lakers to run for the 4th championship in a row (and there first).. it never happened yet on that list it had arguably the 5 best players of there position back then... and I won't be surprised if the same occurs.. Im actually hoping it does
Well the decision has been made, whether you like it or not. Just wait for the 10-11 season start, to see how awesome is the "New Maimi". It similar situation as Boston which just a younger version.
Or completely the opposite of what you say when each of them tries to jack up there 30 shots each a game...its similar but not, these players are better than the Boston 3 each were anyway
I avoided all forms of media today and recorded this while I was working, I just finished watching and I'm annoyed for 2 reasons.

Payton was already on the decline and Malone wasn't even close to being the best at his position. Tim Duncan and Kevin Garnett were ruling the PF position then.
This is all 3 guys in the middle of their prime.
Payton was at his best in the mid-late 90's and the same goes for Malone.
There have been a lot of words written today about Lebron James agreeing to play for the Miami Heat, but for me the words that stood out and resonated the most with me came from a guy who passed away a few months ago.
These quotes were probably written down and reported on decades ago but they are more relevant today than ever before.

- What you are as a person is far more important that what you are as a basketball player.
- Don't measure yourself by what you have accomplished, but by what you should have accomplished with your ability.
These quotes are from John Wooden, the legendary UCLA coach who gave so much to Basketball and its fans. I wonder what he would have said about what happened today if he were still alive?
To me, Lebron James is one of and will become one of the best basketball players ever to play the game. This is despite the fact that he is still only 25 years old and has another 7-10 good years years on the court. This is the same guy who had a team which was the top team in the east over the past few years.
But for me, the thing that I will remember Lebron by is today. He ripped the heart out of the city of Cleveland, much like the guy who lets his dog **** on your lawn and smiles at you while walking away to leave you clean up the mess.
I have no problem with him changing teams, Shaq did it, KG did it, Grant Hill did it, its just the way Lebron did it that showed his true character.
I'm sure he will win a Championship one day, a few more MVP awards and make lots of money along the way. Good luck to him.
But the lack of gratitude and compassion he showed to the people of Cleveland, the kids who wear his jersey, the people who have supported him and the people who in a struggling blue collar town lived through him, they really deserved better than what he did to them today.

Imagine his first game back at Cav's home court! He will get such a hosing down. And he must still live there with a house etc. He would not be very popular right now.
He definitely went for the ring. As Branko put it very nicely, he does not have that killer instinct. He went for the easiest way to get a ring. Team up with 2 of the heavy-weights in the leage right now. People that he can depend on at crunch time, for a game winner......we know he doesn't pull things together all the time when it counts. Why did he not at leasdt try do a sign and trade deal with Cavs to at least give them something back? With what they had invested in him, at least he could discuss with them that he wants to leave and see what else he could do for them before flying the coup.
The way he held out, despite Wade and bosh coming out with their news a day or so before hand. They would have both known what was going to happen. He held it back for the 'suspense' and the 'LeBron' mystique going around about the free agency.

dan gilbert's reaction was unforgivable tho. i wouldn't want to play for a boss like that! granted he was provoked - but what he did exposed his true colours
i really hope that lebron learns to win championships with miami - say 4-5. and then go back to cleveland when he's 30-31 to help cleveland win a few, at the same time surpassing MJ

I was quoting you - on how you were saying the Lakers didn't manage to win it when they had those guys.
And I'm saying to you, it's not the same situation. Malone and Payton were only half as good as they were in their prime. The three guys who the Heat just got are all in the middle of their prime and probably at the stage where they will be playing the highest level of basketball they are capable of.
If the Lakers in 03/04 had got Malone and Payton when they were in their prime they would have won the championship no questions asked.
If that's not what you meant than sorry, but that's how I read it.
