Schwartz is the best Goalie Austrailia has ever seen, he is the reason we made the world cup 4yrs ago and saved us on countless occassions. In saying that he has made 2 mistakes (1 German goal & 1 Serbian) but in the end we were fighting up hill. I didnt like Pim so whoever we get needs to bring more attack into our play and bleed some young guns (and retire the oldies).

A good fight by the team, they came back stronger after each game....that to me is spirit. They could have gone the way of the French and just rolled over. I'm proud of what they achieved remembering Soccer is not our National sport..............

Schwartzer is the man...unfortunatley for goal keepers their mistakes stand out.....and if Cahill wasn't red carded and Kewell wasn't red carded, we could / would be in the next stage.

Whilst I know we don't have any class local coaches IMO we need an Aussie coach.....or Aussie Gus. No team has ever won the Cup with a foreign coach.....The Dutch style is negative but successful but it is time for us to forge our identity / style.

Well Italy got beaten pretty easily in the end...the defending champs can no longer defend!

Ricky Herbert is a too defensive in my opinion, and Chris Wood is far better then Rory Fallon. Fallon is useless, hasn't scored a goal for ages.

Soo happy Italy got knocked out, i will never forgive them for the 2006 game vs the Aussies.
I am shocked that Japan got through and the poor Kiwi's didnt lose a game but didnt qualify.

1st real test for the young Germans, i feel a red card coming and extra time but i havnt seen England play yet. I wonder if the German youth can out do the old hand England LOL.

they got smashed.. You could see it coming from a long way. England previously scored only 2 goals in the group stage to Germany's Five and were always the better side going into the match. I reckon Ozil will get young player of the tournament
