The Official LA LAKERS thread!!

Caught the last quarter and a half...what a finish.

Dragic is just a weak b!tch...chests The Machine from behind after giving him a gob full for hitting a mid range jumper, then flops to the floor holding his nose after getting hit in under the jaw. Sasha was to blame though, as he shouldn't have put himself in that situation.

The Lakers deserved the WCF win, with different players stepping up when they needed to, but we can't afford to stand around like fans and expect Kobe just to work his magic...although it did work today. Props to the Suns...they turned disadvantage into advantage by focusing on scoring inside and that zone defense was inspiring.

Now for the old, over-achieving C's. They sold their franchise future to win one title, so it is good to see them back in the big dance, giving us a chance to redeem ourselves.

The key in this series I believe will be Pau...if he can shake off the demons of a few years ago and finally say 'hasta la vista' to the 'soft' tag, he will inspire this team to another level.

Lakers in 5.

Dragic played awesome. Looked quick and fresh at the end of the game, made it look like everyone else was standing still.

He's a really underrated player who is coming into his own. Has all the tools to be a future all-star point guard. Great jump-shooter, quick getting to the lane, can drive and dish, strong distributor and unlike Steve Nash, for his age he is a good defender, physical and disruptive on defense. Can't wait to see what Dragic has in store for the future.

Too true.

I'm not sure who will win, I also think it will be the Lakers but not in 5. In 6 minimum and quite possibly in 7.

So many keys to the series it will be interesting to see.

Garnett has returned to his intense, non-soft self though so he's not going to let Gasol walk all over him.

Pierce vs Bryant in the 4th quarters will be great to see. Quite frankly I think Kobe is playing out of his skin right now though - and nobody in the world can stop him.

Would say over confident at all just it's a hate for the celtics that every laker fan has of course he can be biased he Aint gonna say celtics in 5 now is he.. Anyways there is alwAys going to be smack talk come finals let's hope it's a good series I want lakers to win don't care if I takes them 7 games to win it I wonder if Paula pierce has he wheel chIrac ready for it looks like thy gonna lose to fake another injury or in fact pull a heart string

I wouldn't go on about Paul too much when you have a man with a girls name on your team.......

How is that overconfident?

  • The Lakers have HCA
  • The C's barely played .500 ball in the second half of the season
  • Post 2008, the C's are 2 years older...the Lakers gained 2 years of experience...and Crazy Ron
  • The last 5 playoff series Lakers have closed out on the road...so with a 2-3-2 format, you do the math...

What is the bag limit on this site? Some of these are a bit undersized, might save some room for the big fish...:p

How is that overconfident?

  • The Lakers have HCA- Celtics were better road team than home
  • The C's barely played .500 ball in the second half of the season-Doc's deliberate plan to get healthy, that seemed to work
  • Post 2008, the C's are 2 years older...the Lakers gained 2 years of experience...and Crazy Ron-older = experience tyvm, Crazy Ron = right, look at that 3pt shot he took in crunch time before he fluked the game winner, you can have him, we'll take Crazy Sheed
  • The last 5 playoff series Lakers have closed out on the road...so with a 2-3-2 format, you do the math...-will be a great series, I just can't believe the 4-1 prediction! you're entitled to it though! battle time! friday  too much break!

added some rebuttal for ya

Normally wouldn't fuss too much over a Conference Championship but when your team wins one then they going to the finals and looking back on three years straight, that's definitely something to be happy about. =D>

We were a little ahead of schedule getting there in 2008, was proven in 2009 when we managed to get back there and take it all, now 2 years down the track after that last Lakers/Celtics series, both teams taking one of the last two championships a peice, this series is going to be HUGE! :woot:

I'd like to back Chad on Lakers in 5 but I'm thinking Lakers in 4.

In all seriousness, Lakers in 6 for me, the sooner the better so prove me wrong. :kick:

Last but not least, repsect to the Suns but we owed them an upset, making it that far as an 8th seed was incredible, Nash is a true warrior and that is definitely a tallented team. :v:

Going to be a tough series, Lakers in 6 maybe 7, will be epic! Kobe is super hot at the moment, beautiful assist to Artest to clinch game 5

Agreed mate, they played some super tough ball and came back well after being hammered in the 1st 2 games, all credit to them, but wasn't to be a fairytale this time round!

Just realised the flaw in my comments, not sure what I was thinking... #-o

Thunder were the 8th seed. :p

Even still, I think they made a huge run and beat some media expectations finishing third and advancing all the way to the WCF's, they'll be back again but will Amare? That'll be the key to their success next season, take him out the equation and you gotta put alot back for them to make the same kind of noise but they got all summer to work that out.
