The Official LA LAKERS thread!!

the reward is simply having any game 7 on your home floor if you have the superior record... thats quite an advantage in my book and one that the teams work damn hard for (basically slog out 82 games to ensure you get that last game on your floor and your terms, jsut in case)

Yeah I've been told about the travel factor and understand that but still, if they're going to put 3 days between games 1 and 2 and 3 days between 4 and 5 surely it could be scheduled better.

It has been the same, maybe I've been thinking about the conference format too much. I jumped the gun with a memory lapse, it was the same last season... I still disagree though.

This system doesn't reward teams.

I have to agree, if anything in the short term it hurts the home team. The Lakers if they hold home court in games 1 & 2 could them be facing elimination if holding their game in game 6. I think the finals should be the normal 2 2 2 1 format so the best team during the regular season has HCA thru the finals series.

I understand that point but still have to disagree mate. The pressure is on the home court team to win the first 2 just to have a chance. If they drop 1 the series could be over in the next 3 away games. They win both at home, they can still head home down 2 - 3 the next week. What's the point of a game 7 if you could be eliminated in game 6? We don't want the schedule lopsided so it gaurantees the home court team a series, but this set up is hardly an advantage for winning home court.

uuuuuuuuuurrrrrgly`game so far... rashard is the lone consistent outside threat, hedo starting to get heated up with 17 pts and both are shooting well from 3 land... dwight solid on D but nuthin offensively... kobe been relatively quiet and bynum, well zero rebounds in 3 qtrs is absolutley disgraceful from an nba 7 footer with all star potential

Off to Orlando up 2 - 0.

If they take game 3, I see around a 75% chance of a sweep. It's going to be tough though. If the Magic can stay with us like they have for 2 games in LA then I expect alot more from them on their floor, and I think we'll see a little more Jameer than we have too.

Whatever happens, we just need 1 on the road to come home in a good position. So happy with how they've taken care of business. Can see the fire in there eyes. =D>

Way to handle your business! :)

Mate your right there the intencity on KOBE's face these past 2 GMS shows he really wants this sooo bad, watching an interview on NBA TV and a reporter asked him why he hasnt smiled yet and kobe's response was something like the jobs only half done!!!!
Just goes to show how focused he is and the team is more to the point....

I think LA can take GM3...They just went missing in OT...The magic must have been shattered after lee's layup missed and it went into OT the only player to keep them in the whole game was Rashard, ive always been a so called Rashard hater, i mean the dude hasnt done anything in my eyes to warrant a $119MIL contract!!!

IF we can get GM3 i HOPE we can close it out on their floor in 5...But i wont be so bad holding the trophy in Staples!!!

SO lets go LA in GM3.....

Here is the video it it will play!!

Well we can put our brooms away...

I'm not overly disappointed with that. They came to play and the Magic only just get out with a win. Couldn't help but cringe at the confettii coming down before the game was over and that 3 off the glass from Fish, I coulda sworn that was going to drop. Oh well. Could go on about Kobe missing his FT's, how we could have won but there's no point. The series is 2 - 1 and I believe the Magic have only postponed the inevitable.

Get 'em in game 4. Don't let this one get tied up.

How hot were the Magic Shooting??? 73% or something ridiculas like that a Finals record i believe....Your right also i think they are just delaying it....The Magic i dont think can play much better than this game..But the Magic did just execute alot better down the stretch....

GM4 Friday our time!!!...Lets go 3-2.....

Yep the Magic shot the lights out and couldnt do it better in their lifetime, i think the magic will be happy to get that game but still very worried that they shot that good and had a few calls go their way which helped them stay out of foul trouble. Kobes misses from the FT line did hurt but overall very hard to win when your opponent shoots that well. I think game 4 will be more of a scrap and since Odom didnt really turn up on the board or the scoreboard like he did in G1 and G2 hopefully we all put in like we did in the first too.

Altho Kobe went cold in the second half i really think this is 1 of if not his best finals series ever. He's hitting all the (KOBE) shots as well as leading the team in assists and getting everyone involved.

Magic yet to lose back to back games at home this season. None of that matters when facing elimination in the Finals...

It won't matter even if the Magic win the next one, think the Lakers would love to win in at the Staples center!

Wrong, wrong, wrong. The team MUST give it a huge go to close this one out next game. When an opponent is on their knees you don't allow them any mercy. Drop the next and Magic have one of those mad 3 pt shooting nights they are capable of in g6, then we are down to a toss of the coin g7.

Time to focus and close this out in 5.
