LMFAO...

Am i reading this correctly. KG wouldn't have made any difference to this series against the Magic?? And you back that up with stats on pts, rebs and stls etc??

Where are your pts allowed, opp FG% etc etc.

We lose an all nba player and the team glue both in the lockeroom and defensively and it made no difference. And you think he would of played on Dwight?

I was never going to use the excuse we lost as no KG. Thats the excuse for the reason we haven't gone back to back. Not the reason we lost this series. We lost this series because we couldn't function defensively. We had to make do with what we had and thats that. But to say KG wouldn't alter our defence or any part of our game is ridiculous. I doubt you find many if any that share that view.

and its a mute point about babys game winning jumper etc. We controlled that game and let them back in. With KG in there we get more stops and baby doesn't even have to take that shot. I know its a what if game but....

Its defense that wins titles and no matter what baby gave us offensively he didn't offer what we needed defensively.

I don't know why I'm even bothering to reply to a 'KG doesn't make a difference' comment.

Am I upset my team came out at 3Q time with a 4pt deficit and let the magic go on a 10-0 run.. Sure. Am I upset we didn't close it out in game 6 when up by 9pts late in the 4th, sure even more.

Quite frankly we blew this series that was there for the taking from a team that relies on its jumpshot and threes to win games. That wont take them to an NBA title. Dwights inside game wont take them far either as its plain woefull. He can't hit a shot to save himself unless its a wide open dunk or layup. He makes Shaq look like Kevin Mchale.

Another year another window as we still have PP, Allen, KG, Rond and Perk. Its up to Ainge what he adds with that but even that starting five will take us high in the east once again. But how far in the playoffs is dependent on our bench and a bit of luck. The luck we didn't have this year and we fought hard and did well to get one game from the ECF's. Sure we ****ed it up but reaching the ECF's would of been the most I expected from our team the way it was.

Now I cheer on the Cavs, the best team this year by far and with the best player in the league also.

That's what I woulda written if I didn't have 3 kids round my feet!!!!

Yep, still don't think he'd have made much of a difference. Perhaps my choice of words in "he wasnt missed" were not what I meant, but again, he wouldnt have made much (if any) difference.

Sounds like you're a little pissed so I won't comment any further....

:blink::shock::shock::shock::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::-k:-k..............................

Yeah you are right. We should delist him now and lose him for nothing as no use keeping around a guy that can't contribute. Last years defensive player of the year, this year all defensive second team, led us to a title less than 12 months ago, all nba and former league MVP. Hardly a guy that could make a lick (if any) bit of difference

I never said anything about trading him, or moving him on, now you're just being silly...
But perhaps after all his actions, and comments, maybe they should get rid of his arse!

They couldnt defend when it mattered, they couldnt hold a lead when it mattered, they were stretched as far as they could from jump-shooters, and was beaten by someone who couldnt hit a shot unless it was a dunk or layup... oh hang on, that's all he needed from the easy looks inside.

Still would have been the same results. Just because it's my opinion, doesnt mean it's a wrong opinion...

I don't think there's any more passionate fans in all of sports than Celtics fans (see Chad and Al). Anyone who thinks that KG wouldn't have made a difference against the Magic has a substance-abuse problem. Consult medical advice asap.

To win one NBA title, a team needs to be good and lucky. To try and win back-to-back, even more-so. The Celts were plenty good enough, but had no luck with injuries. However, this Pistons fan thinks they defended their title like a true champion. Does anyone remember the Heat, NBA champs one year, swept out in the first round next season. What a joke!

19 wins on the trott and only 4 games less than last years team despite all the problems. Couldn't have said it better myself.

I guess we are passionate because we don't have a second favourite team. Its all or nothing.

The way it should be :) Take the bad with the good and stick by your side

Hmmm, ok. So I'm wrong, I'm on drugs/alcohol, and I'm not passionate cos I have favourite teams...

Fair enough.

I've said my opinion (despite it being wrong), you've said yours, don't think anyone's losing sleep...

Don't think so....huge off season for the C's.........lots of decisions to make, who to cut/sign etc......

Do you think they can have another run at the trophy next year?

What's KG's health like.

They kind of have a small window of time don't they. Not directly comparing but when the Heat won in 06 it was like bam - if Shaq gets injured seeing as he's already so old, the window is closed.

In brief cos I've got dishes to do - yes they can....

Kg's having an op next week so we'll see how he is.... I don't think the Heat were in the same boat. If u look at how Perk and Rondo have come on and with BBD also with big 'upside' I can see the C's having a great core, even if KG has a diminished role. Will depend on who they resign, cut etc as currently the bench isn't good enough....

First question yes they will for sure, second question, he's going to have surgery, apperantly the knee has been nagging him for a few years now and if anything, it will help improve and relieve a lot pain for him. The C's will need to resign Powe and BBD if they want to be a contender and if these playoffs have shown anything, they definetly need to add to their bench.

Well BBD is leaving.

His comments in the last few days certainly say to all us Celts fans that he is leaving to the team that gives him the most money rather than stay on the team that put faith in him in the second round, played him in his rookie year despite the team having another player in his spot(powe), winning a championship in his first year, loving the team and town and a chance to cement a starting spot in the years to come with a young Rondo leading the team with Perk at center.

Quite honestly Baby has a ceiling as a player and his contract should symbolise that. Such a shame we get a second round find and because of that and the pay cut that comes with second round selection if these guys come good they chase the money they lost out on in the first place. I dont' want to overpay for BBD and I doubt he takes a smaller deal year wise.

I'd rather sew up Rondo a year early before those that lose out on the Bosh/Wade/Bron sweepstakes and are cashed up to take one of the best young PGs in the game.

There is a lot of talk about FA's this year and vet help for the bench like McDy, Wallace etc etc. Not a lot out there though so losing BBD for nothing and only having Powe, Scal is not great.

Moore is useless and should be shown the door. The guy showed a little but is a foul machine.

Starbury will be tested. Honestly the guy doesn't need more money and didnt' show enough imo to get a starter spot elsewhere. Maybe it him of all people that show loyalty to the team he has only known for a few months :rolleyes:

Contracts of house and Allen coming out too.

And the 09 Celts being compared to the Heat looking to repeat :lol:

KG will be back fine, its not a career threatening injury and he has years left to contribute. He plays a perimeter game and its based on defense. History tells us players like that play well into their late 30's and are valuable championship keys.

Pierce is going to have surgery it seems on bone spurs he has been playing with unknowing to us all and Perk is getting his shoulder done for the 3rd time.

Celts will be back in 2010 thats for sure but I have a feeling if Ainge can't get things done or we are shafted by the greedy nature of the NBA players it will be the 1988 Celtics with KC playing the starters 46 mins a game and by playoff time we are out of puff.

If you are a Celtics fan Jimbo there is no such thing as an off season  Just more team based stuff to discuss in what will be a busy off season for us. I'm sure the future contracts with Pierce and Allen will be discussed and what they expect next year when they are up so we can work out contracts beyond that for the help needed. Pierce will be a Celt for life and I hope(doubt) he puts in any huge demands to make it so.

Looking forward to seeing Perk and Rondo in team USA jerseys. That should help both move up to that level at least in the eyes of some of the blind US media.

The almighty $$$ soeaks louder than anything for some, such a shame really seeing the calibre team he is on, potentially another championship shot left in them easily, I mean, isn't that enough to take a few less $$$???

Definetly expect Perk and Rondo in team USA jerseys, but like you said, the media's influence will surely play a part in that.

its always difficult to keep a young player hungry for success when they have had lots of it very early in their careers... BBD is prob thinking, ive won a championship im gonna chase the money now... rather than thinking, ill take slightly less to stay on a fantastic team with the potential to win another championship in the nex few years while their window is open

look at the late wayman tisdale... superstar in college, gets picked up by rubbish indiana and then toils in obscurity and poor teams for his entire career and only once did he go deep into the playoffs with phoenix in 94/95

either way the money boston gives BBD or someone else gives him, he's set for life... championships however dont grow on trees
