The Official LA LAKERS thread!!

All good. 12 points later let me just reitterate that we hold the lead at the half. :)

Still anyone's game and Lamar and Gasol need to step it up if we take this win at home. 3 Nuggets in double digits and 1 Laker, it's amazing that we even have the lead to be honest. Bench is doing nicely collectively, the three point shots are falling but we're gonna need more in the second half. Can't rely on the 3 ball against this team when they're not shooting bad outside themselves. Shut em down...

Nuggets definetly not playing their natural game, their bench has ony scored 3 points so far, where they have been the highest scoring bench team this whole playoffs averaging 32 points. Lakers front court need t0 step up if they are to win. Nene is killing them as I predicted. Great game so far!

ouch, kobe looks frustrated. Nuggets need to pick up on offence instead of relying on melo. Fisher playing the best game of the playoffs so far. Gasol needs to get in there!

This is what we want, up 2 with 30 seconds to play and a potential last look.

Hopefully we got some shut down defense coming up, no fouls!!!

Control the next 30 seconds and we control the series.

As Chaddy said, DEFEND HOME COURT!!!

Man what an intense game! Down 13 in the first half, fought back, down 7 in the second half, fought back. Everyone raving on about Melo's 39... How bout Kobe's 40??? By far the best performance tonight... :worthy:

Interesting fact popping up through the game; 79% of the teams that take 1, take the series. 100% of the Melo admirers can't argue with that.

Will be on a media blackout on friday so will try and get through without knowing until I can catch the replay. A close mate is in LA with his fiance and has game 2 tickets so I know I'll be getting a few calls either way. How do you tell someone like that who's in that position and at the game not to spoil it for you?

Good job Lakers, come out strong on friday, no messing around. They'll be watching the tape regardless of the win and readjusting to better prepare for the melo factor.

Bring on Game 2!!! =D>

lol i think everyone expected it from kobe, not from melo, that's why everyone is "raving on" lol

Great game, very entertainting, exactly what you shoould expect from a playoff game!

Not trying to start an argument here, but Kobe scores 1 more point on 8 more shots, with the assists, boards, blocks and steals identical, and yet Kobe supposedly had "by far the best game"? Kobe sealed it for them, sure, and defended Melo well in stretches. But Melo also kept Kobe in check for long stretches. As for the game in general, great game to watch, but the late drama could've been avoided with Chauncey's "trey" being called out... Looks like a good series anyway, and here's hoping it goes as long as possible to wear the WC rep out by the time the finals come around. Then if the Cavs get through the Magic, they'll be looking good from a rest stand-point...

Well you said it yourself and that's the tie breaker. We got the win, Kobe practically sealed it at the line. Maybe I am being biased in saying he had 'by far' the better game so I'll correct that and say; Kobe had the better game.
