DONT be sorry its a LEARNING experience as ive said ive only been collecting now for 4 months and mate i tell you what thats the only "fake" card ive purchased & to tell you the truth i honestly still dont know what to believe..... but life goes on i have bigger and better issues to worry about then this !!!!!!

if the man wants his money back il give it to him its not an issue to me @ all im more than happy to take it back!!

NOW LET THIS THREAD DIE.......!!
 
I don't think this topic will ever die. I thought it would if we all do chip in and burn it........but then it will just go down in the OCT history books. Good gesture to offer the refund mate, it's sad you have been ripped off too

Are you sure? There may have been more than that one "extra" card produced by Fleer. They may have produced 10 of them. Unless, there's somewhere that says only one extra was made?

The thing is here you have the collective experience and knowledge of many experienced collectors, who's collective opinion would outweight that on an individual.

That is the beauty (and also the evil) of a site like this with a huge member base and large number of active participants. You can come here with the question that you can get a concensus opinion from a big experience base.

But then again, the concensus may (rarely) be wrong (though on this occasion I would agree with concensus ;) ).

This card will always be in question !!! so the only way that will happen by the looks of it is by the card being destroyed...

Why not try this as an option !

If anyone agrees with me that no matter if it is REAL or FAKE it is a pretty nice looking card !

With the ammount of cards in circulation out there and the number of errors regarding print runs etc and more that can be found in your Beckett Price guides who really knows what the case is 100 % of the time !!! and it the Fleer auctions just added to it.... or any uncut tagless cards released :mad: with so many ppl looking for a quick $

Is there any chance that Graham could send it with his next Grading lot to settle it once and for all :thumbsup:

If it Passes the grading it should answer all of our questions :cool:

If it Fails then its gotta be destroyed !

Don;t they just grade the condition and not judge whether it's authentic or not? That's what I have heard about all companies I thought...
 
You are thinking of BGS to an extent. PSA and grading co's will grade for fakes. You don't expect fake Jordan RC's and Bill Russell RC fakes to get graded for condition whether fake or not. But cards like this are a different story and rely on graders to check up on the history of the card and not judge by the condition of the card if its fake or not.

I would still expect both companies to let it go ungraded no matter as sure or not they wouldn't fully endorse it as legit.

And yeah if you ask a question here and get 90% of 'its fake' we have all seen it before and then take the word of one other collector you know personally then you haven't used the site for what it is. This place has proven over time it contains some of the best card knowledge in the hobby US based or not.

I personally don't think it should of been sold on this time either and destroying the card is the best option from here on as it has no choice but to just sit in your collection as being fake.

IF it got sold again or surfaced again from trades here or elsewhere your membership here Highgate would be revoked. We don't like to see collectors knowingly hurting both the hobby and people in it.

Short and sweet outcome from our point of view.

not a problem governator! I am not here to cause conflict like ive said to graham i am the most nicest loyal dude and very giving. You get what you give i believe. And yes i do agree if i were to re sell it again to ban me though i wouldnt. i to do not wish to be associated with crooks however burning it does sound tempting!

Or maybe Graham can send the card to PSA for DNA Authentication to once and for all take the doubt away to whomever they belong...

damn, I feel for both of you. that card has caused alot of people problems.

I like the idea of burning it or sending to PSA to see what happens.

Either he refunds you or he is permanently banned from here. Its that simple. If Highgate wants to continue posting, trading on our forum there is no other choice.

Its CLEARLY obvious after I got to Billy's fake patch thread Highgate sold the card AFTER he was told and ACCEPTED it was fake. This is a poor representation of our site when members do this in our small card community be it ebay or here. The refund offer was publicly offered and accepted.

I think the buyer here deserves it and quite frankly Highgate is lucky to be here period. With a refund on offer he has been given the benifit of the doubt in fixing this problem once and for all.

Can't put it any simpler than that. So I hope the non communication or non refund so far is just due to some sort of personal delay.
 
I spoke to Matt (highgate) today on the phone. It has been sorted out and we have made an agreement. Thanks for your support members.
 
I hope you got all your money back or at least in trade value you are happy with.

Glad it was all sorted out and this should be the end of the card popping up here I'd hope.
