SOOK... lol.

Checked out 30 Days of Night last night.

Not the greatest of "vampire" movies. Was disappointed with the near-end.

Basically, it's a town in (I think) Alaska, where they have a month in darkness, month in light, etc.

They're gearing up for the start of the night (hence 30 days of night), when some killings start happening.

They soon discover that the killers are hacking at the necks of the living, and assume they are vampires.

There's a group of about 10 or so surviviors including (Josh Hartnet, and Aussie's own, Melissa George).

Anyways, won't tell you how it ends.

Some scenes were pretty full on (gorey), so that was cool. Was disappointed that it's a "new" movie and the lack of "oompf" it had....

6/10

the mist: there are going to be questions and spoilers down below so this is the heads up

I just watched it and there were a couple things that bugged me (spoilers here)

when they were flying around on fire why didn't the fire alarm go off in the store? you know those hanging ones. also what happened to the black guy, (the neighbor?)

I hated the store clerk (gun shooting champion) getting killed off.

and if anyone here has read the book how does the book end?

the movie's ending was depressing

I give it a 3.5/5

Watched it the other night too. The ending was crazy! Definately a Stephen King movie, can tell coz his story lines are so quirky.

On another note saw Be Kind Rewind with Jack Black & Mos Def last night. Good movie with a nice message and quite hilarious and creative in parts. Not fantastic but worth a look if you're a movie fan like me! 7/10

Checked out The Nines last night (Ryan Reynolds & Melissa McCathy).

Pretty full on movie! At first I was lost with the plot, and whilst we started to lose interest, I knew there was something about it, and we had to finish it off. (I'd read something on the web about it, but not enough to spoil it).

If you like twisted plotted movies, then check this one out for sure!

Well thought out movie, and super well acted! Don't lose concentration when watching this one!!

9/10

I've been watching the original Star Wars Trilogy (4, 5 & 6) of late. Still watching 6 tho (usually put it on when I go to bed - make me sleep movie).

How awesome is Night Of The Living Dead!!!
They're coming to get you Barbara
- LOVE IT!!!

What about Return Of The Living Dead? How many did they make out of that one? I think I've seen like 5 or something... Rave From The Grave or something...

Only really liked Parts 1 & 2.

EDIT:
Havent seen that one Jizz, just grabbin' it now ;)

dawn of the dead -remake, awesome movie, if you like zombie movies check it out, this is the only movie i like the remake better than the original (i think it's cause its an hour or more shorter im not a fan of long movies)

the original DOTD is THE greatest zombie movie ever made! :worthy:

We gots Bubba Ho Tep, but aint seen it yet.

Tossing up a few options on what to watch first.

We did check out Rob Zombie's rendition of Halloween last night.

Top film, love anything by the Zombie Man!

Did you notice most of the cast was his "homies" from the likes of House of 1,000 Corpses, and Devil's Rejects?

Should see the line up that Bill Mosely has coming out this year!

I think i will watch the original "texas chainsaw massacre" today :worthy:

I think I read some reviews about Steve King's The Mist on here? Anyways, we checked it out last night.

WOW..... what a movie!! Had no idea what to expect, being Steven King and all...

Fantastically done, twisted plot, and unusual ending. Great work Mr King!

8/10

FINALLY checked out AVP-R.

Well, not that great, but not crap either.

I'm still not understanding the last bit with Ms. Yutani and the whole "your world is not ready for this technology" comment....

I've read different stuff on the web that says Weyland-Yutani was something to do with Alien movies, but I have no idea, been yonks since we saw those ones.

Anyways, AVP-R, could have done with more OOOMPF.... kinda was like Res Evil with the whole "blow up the city istead of helping" kinda outcome.

With the new stuff they had in AVP, I would have thought they'd have come with some really cool stuff this time, instead, we got 2 pulse cannons, and a bottle of blue liquid.

6/10 for me.

Spot on. They really haven't managed to pay homage to the original Alien or Predator franchise, they're more like mainstream teen horror flicks which gets eaten up either way.

Anyone seen 'Into The Wild' yet? Great film based on a True Story, Pearl Jam fans will love that one. Most recent movie I seen was Jumper, didn't expect much and it wasn't that bad.

Sitting tight waiting for the new Indiana Jones film and Batman Begins. Everytime I see the trailer and that Indiana Jones theme song kicks in, boy does it take me back! :D

Juno was great....9/10

Charlie Wilsons War was ok....great acting from Tom Hanks and Phillip Seymour Hoffman lifts the dry political/war storyline....8/10

Cloverfield....8/10....didn't know too much about it before it started, which helped. Very well put together movie from a shooting/editing point of view!!!

watched it for the first time last night and gotta say i was not blown away, as most people seem to be. its just another entry in that 'quirky teenage outsider comedy' as seen in films like Rushmore and Napoleon Dynamite. nothing particularly clever about it, and some of the dialogue reeked of artifice and felt like it was desperately trying to be cool but failed. "Honest to Blog?" seriously

very overrated but id still give it a 7/10.

Yeah I'm hangin' for Dr Jones to come back.

How good was Jumper? Havent seen yet, but the trailers have me hooked!!!

If you're waiting for Batman Begins, you should go rent/buy it, not a bad film!

Dark Knight is probably what you mean tho aye.... ;)
