Latest Movie/DVD you've seen, and what would you rate it...

Sorry, this not a review, just a (late) preview....

One for the Jet Li fans...

Warlords:
YouTube - The Warlords Trailer Eng Subs ??? Jet Li Andy Lau Peter Chan

Havent seen the movie yet, just saw this on his website tonight whilst looking up details for his up and coming flic WITH JACKIE CHAN!!!! (The Forbidden Kingdom).

I believe that the Warlords is in Mandarin or Cantonese, but has English Subs.

Battle scenes look intense, can't wait!!!

Looking forward for this one.

I saw WarLords yonks and yonks ago...it's got a very interesting storyline, beautiful cinematography, and I probably give it a 7.8 out of 10. But if you're interested in films of that genre, make sure you rent 'Hero' with Jet Li in it. The storyline has got a tonne of depth and a twist to it and the beautiful use of vibrant colours and fight scenes are truly a sight to behold. RECOMMENDED!

On a different note, just watched 'Get Smart' with Steve Carrell and Anne Hatthaway. Its got some good laughs here and there, entertaining, but Anne Hatthaway just sizzles, she does a scene ala Catherine Zeta Jones in Entrapment going thru the lasers, and that was DA BOMB!

Seen a bunch of movies lately.

Kung-Fu Panda - Jack Black is hilarious, just got me pumped up for Tropic Thunder. One of the better cartoons released. 7/10

Vantage Point - Decent action thriller, but the first half of the mive annoyed me. Then at the end it doesn't tell you why everything happened, frustrating. 6/10

Into The Wild - Emile Hirsch is awesome and so is this movie! It has become one of my favourites of all time. 10/10

There Will Be Blood - Daniel Day Lewis is a great actor, this movie was a lot better than I thought it would be. 2.5hrs and I didn't get bored with it surprisingly. 7.5/10

21 - Cool true story about a genius who gets into the world of card counting. 2nd best card movie ever after Rounders. 7.5/10

10,000 BC - This was great I thought, thoroughly entertaining, don't know why the critics hated it. It crapped all over Apocalypto. 8/10

Alvin & The Chipmunks - Didn't expect much, but was enjoyable. These are the type of movies that make the world a better place, very feel goody. 5.5/10

Forbidden Kingdom - Jackie Chan & Jet Li together for the first time! Yes please. Was good, but aimed at a younger audience. 6.5/10

Harsh Times - Prob one of Christian Bales worst chosen roles, but he plays it incredibly well. There isn't a single likeable character in this one which makes it hard to enjoy. 4.5/10

National Treasure Book of Secrets - So so, not as bad as the critics made it out to be. Similar to the first and much like Tomb Raider, fun movie. 6.5/10

Stealth - Heaps better than I thought it would be. Nice brainless action thriller, no thinking required, and Jessica Biel is hot! 6.5/10

The Darjeeling Ltd - Pretty quirky. Not as good as I had heard, but I find it hard to get into these type of comedies like Rushmore etc. Still very enjoyable though, just not my cup of tea as a comedy. 7/10

Stranger Than Fiction - This movie was fantastic! Will Ferrell is perfect and Maggie Gylennhal is my new fave! Great idea, and pulled off really well. 8/10

Yes, I am on uni holidays at the moment so I have a lot of time to burn!

Check out this trailer for Hell Ride (another to Tarantino's production list)....

well, this aint technically a tarantino film (ie. hes not directing), just another film theyve slapped him on as executive producer, so they can use his name to sell more movie tix/dvds. true romance was written by tarantino, so its got more his stamp on it than this film. it definitely looks like its going to be cool though: michael madsen, dennis hopper, and vinnie jones!

Ah ok, just assumed he was directing when I seen Madsen and the whole Grindhouse style. Big fan of True Romance (with one of Hoppers best scenes) but I'm glad Tony Scott ended up with the Directors seat so we got a different take on it from another great filmmaker.

OT - how good will Inglorious Bastards be? That's if we ever get to see it...

Hell Ride

That looks awesome Scotty, cheers for the trailer :v: Michael Madsen, Vinnie Jones and more David Carradine!

I just got back from watching Hancock again. How cool is this movie! I'm not a big Will Smith fan but he's pretty good in this one. Charlize Theron is smoking hot and it's always good to see Jason Bateman working  4.5 outta 5.

Hancock 2/10 awful, woeful, terrible

How Charlize Theron still gets a gig in Hollywood amazes me, Will Smith was great but the script was so poor not even he could make it good, and Bateman looked like he has had a few to mahy pies and still can't act to save himself.

Worst movie I've seen all year easily.

EDIT : On the other hand if anyone wants to see a totally weird and freaky Movie get Perfume on dvd ..........totally weird.

Me and the wife just got back from seeing it. We thought it was alright for a bit of fun. But yeah - not the best.

Charlize Theron is hot btw!!

Not often a Film supercedes the original but from what I seen tonight The Dark Knight did just that and I wasn't suprised it did, more suprised in how easily it did so.

Batman Begins was a fresh start to Batman movies focusing on the hardcore Dark Knight version which was always going to be better than the 90's releases and with B Grade villains, Batman Begins was still awesome to watch. So add a new Joker (my favorite Batman villain) to the sequel and I knew straight away it would top it.

Giving it a 10 out of 10!!!

9 out of 10 may be a bit more realistic to most as a perfect 10 would mean a perfect movie (Fight Club and Se7en come to mind), but it would be hard to top this, especially in the comic book turned-movie era we've been flooded with again over the last 10 years (I'm loving every moment of it!).

Also seen the trailer for Hellboy II, looks amazing.

Yep, Hancock wasn't great. Not bad though, but got pretty intenese towards the end. It had trouble deciding if it was action, tragedy, comedy etc! If you stayed for about 30s after the credits Mike Epps was GOLD and it was the funniest bit in the whole movie! 6/10

Gotta agree with you there man, saw the film last night and it was great, exceeded my expectations.

Ledger did better than i anticipated, even with all the hype. That's how a villian should be played.

I thought Hancock was OK.... funny at times, but boring at others... Not enough "oompf" in it to keep me interested.

Went and checked out Dark Knight today.... OH....MY....GOD...!!!

You can bet your arse I'll be waiting for stores to open to get the DVD on this one!

Farout, how awesome was Ledger? I was reading all the "hype" about it, thinking that Ledger was only being nomiated etc, because he's passed and all, but WOW......

He really lit this one on fire!

I heard that Ledger had finished filming his role as the Joker before his demise, but he was all the way through it!

11/10, my fave movie right now!!!

OT, can anyone help find his laugh as an audio file??? SOOOOOOOOO want it!!!!

Yes just saw ""The Dark Knight"" from begging to the end its all good!!! The movie not just simply about fighting or blow up cinestrip but also add in the ''human-nature'' pretty cool, and ledger really stole the show almost beat the batman~~ Hahahaha... Best moive so far of 08!!
*****5 STARS *****

Caught The Dark Knight again tonight, couldn't help myself! :D

Just as blown away as the first time.

Amazing Direction, amazing performances, amazing script and amzing score. Going to be very hard to top at the box office, I'll go as far to say it's the movie of the year and most definitely the greatest Batman movie ever made. =D>

I'm hooked!

The Dark Knight! AMAZING! This is a 10/10 without a doubt! Not only the best Batman, but the best superhero movie EVER! And I had huge expectations which were lived up to! Aaron Eckhart and Heath Ledger stole the show, amazing performances! Killer cast, killer script, just straight out KILLER! See this movie!
