Latest Movie/DVD you've seen, and what would you rate it...

the new RAMBO movie if you are a fan of rambo i suggest you see this but be prepared as it is very graphic and violent. I can not wait for the dvd will for sure by great movie

Just watched the first showing of Cloverfield and loved it! Not completely original, but more original and novel than most. Awesome settings with the devestated Manhatten and pretty good camera work regardless of the shaky style. I thought it lived up to the height! And the teaser trailer for Star Trek?!? WTF! Never like it but a new one done by JJ Abrams?!?! Might just have to see that too! 4/5

yeah how good is cloverfield???? Best movie of the year so far. Awesome awesome aweseom. Everyone here should definitely go and see it.

ive written a pretty detailed review if anyone's interested: thinmanshat.blogspot.com

but yeah, you will love it. it is more than a movie, its like a ride or something. its intense

I have seen a few movies of late which is pretty rare for me as I prefer to watch sport at any spare chance .

I am Legend (movies)
I thought it was a pretty decent movie, one of his better performances, right up there with the Legend of Bagger Vance. Quite a bit of action with a good mix of horror that leaves you sitting on the edge of your seat. 8.5/10

Vacancy (DVD)
Pretty tame movie, but you could tell it was a small budget film as there was a total of 7 people and 1 raccoon used . It had its times of scares, but it was fairly predictable. 5.5/10

The Condemned (DVD)
Pretty much a blood bath movie with not a whole lot of plot. There were some cool fighting scenes, but it was just lacking that something extra. The main reason I hired it out was for Stone Cold (as I was a big wresting fan from 98-03, not so much now). Just like The Rock, Steve should stay put in the WWE. 5/10

I have Knocked Up and Ocean's 13 to watch over the next couple of days to watch as well.

*Spoilers*

Just a note on Cloverfield, has anyone seen the amount of viral marketing that has been done on the movie?!?!? It is insane, they have created companies that don't exist! Also there is a sound file at the very end of the movie and some internet geeks have played it backwards and it says, "its still alive"! Apparently in the very last scene when Beth & whats his face are on their trip to Rhode Island (weeks before the event) in the background something large falls into the water! JJ Abrams has been quoted as saying its a satellite that may have disturbed the monster on the ocean floor! He has also said the monster is just a baby, which is also implying that the monster we all saw was only 1 of many! The other rumour going around is that there is going to be a sequal filmed from someone elses point of view (there is a scene in the movie where we see another witness recording the events) and answers lots of questions that were left unanswered in this movie! If you want to find out more go to www.imdb.com and check out FAQS!

watched american gangster a few days ago... great movie and just what i thought it would be. eye opening movie to the drug culture of the 60's & 70's... unbelievable that it got to a stage where they were calling the drug problem in harlem and in america an epidemic, it got that bad.

all of the moral issue come up in ur mind while watching this. a guy living the high life (cars houses women) and mixing it with sports stars, politicians etc, while the rest of the ppl using his product and the ppl he is profiting from to have his lifestye, are killing themselves and those around them.

he used to hang with wilt chamberlain and boxer joe louis, and all of the african american stars of the day used to frequent his clubs regularly. not sure if many of you know this but frank lucas actually stole his then mistress, who was the step daughter of baseball legend willie mays, from walt 'clyde' frazier (star of the knicks in the 70's). he also used to invite players from the knicks to his house where they would play pickup ball with him. dont forget, the knicks probably had their most successful time in franchise history around this time so they were very much in demand.

a revealing and very confronting look at how drug dealers lived and probably still do live today and how the heroin users are affected by the drug. the sad thing is and the reality probably is that while the faces and individuals may have changed, the drug problem still faces every society massively and there are ppl undoubtedly profiting from other ppls misfortune and addictions.

as always denzel's portrayal of his character is sensational. if u like the gangster/mafia genre then u just gotta check this movie out.

ALSO IF U WANNA FIND OUT A BIT MORE OF FRANK LUCAS, TYPE HIS NAME INTO YOUTUBE AND A HEAP OF MATERIAL COMES UP THAT U CAN WATCH... DOCO'S ETC. VERY INSIGHTFUL

Checked out The Kingdom (Jamie Foxx, Jennifer Garner) last night.

WOW... talk about indepth!!

It's based around a bombing in Iraq/Afghanastan/somewhere there, and there's a "town" which is sealed off with walls (the Kingdom), where they are invaded and bombed, twice.

Now firstly, if you're against a lot of out there kind of scenes, this movie's not for you.

The suicide bombing scenes, whilst aren't real of course, but the graphic nature is amazing, it LOOKS bloody real!

Anyways, Jamie and his crew from the FBI are sent to investigate the bombings, (as one of their men were blown up in it), they cooperate with the local authorities, and track down the guy responsible, kill him, and yada yada yada.

If you like war style movies (say 10x better than Three Kings), then this is worth checking out.

It'll be one we add to the Library!!!

10/10 for sure!

Just finished watching Step Up 2: The Streets.

How awesome is this movie!

I don't mind these "dance" movies, and compared to "You Got Served" this movie creams all over it IMO!

Well worth seeing!!!

Oh, and did I mention the lovely ladies with their lady lumps too!

It's about a chicky who's part of a "crew" and is left with an ultimatum at home that she either go to school, or go home (far away).

She goes to this school for performing arts, and doesnt fit in. Has troubles with her current crew, and is basically booted.

Left with nothing, she joins hands with another top dancer, and they join up their own crew, to try to take it "to the streets" (a dance championship where they battle, well, on the streets).

I won't go further in to it, it might spoil it, but I will say, the last scenes are amazing!!

9.5/10!!

Can't wait for the DVD!!

You just made my day! I've been pumped to see this since I saw the trailer, hopefully will get time to see it this long weekend. The main girl is unbelievably hot! Was singing the theme song Low by Flo Rida & T-Pain during uni class today and then eventually everyone had enough and told me to shut it! Haha. :p

I thing though. Seriously, can it really be better than You Got Served?!?!? That movie was sick, Omarion's backflip at the start was freaking amazing!

Seriously Jase, totally better than Served!!!

Seen the first Step Up?? Remember Taylor? He has 2 sweet backflips near the start of this one!

Oh, and I totally hear ya about Low....I got it as my ringtone, LOL!!

Saw "We Own the Night" last week. Awesome movie. Better than The Departed. Joaquin Pheonix is great and Mark Wahlberg is pretty good too. Highlight for me was one of the best filmed car chase scenes I have ever seen! 9/10
