I have been playing EA ports Tiger Woods 2005 (yes I know its old) and I play it for around 3-5 holes and completely freezes, is there anything I can do by downloading a patch or something. It has only happened in the last week or so too after many hours without fault...

Maybe faulty ram or the some hardware in the system is playing up?

Try adjusting the video card settings or testing it on another computer.

have you got other programs running while your playing the game?

Only things running behind the scenes like AVG. Nothing major though...

And yeah Andy, my comp does meet standards I have been playing it on the highest settings for ages with no problems.

You could try looking for a nocd patch for it. I think its okay to have one if you have the original disk. Not to sure about the online multiplay though. But if youre just playing it by yourself it should work fine.

Does this happen with any other games or anything else? My guess is your PC may be overheating due to the warmer weather as games put them under more strain & hence generate more heat...

^Yeah thats very possible, it has been warming up and it did freeze yesterday in the heat of the arvo. It worked fine today as it was slightly cooler.

ahh, there ya go. have you got any fans running inside the computer, besides the one for the cpu?

if not, buy a couple of cooling fans for the inside of your comp, see how it goes.

Well it may well not have been the heat as this morning at around 9am and 20 degrees it did it again. My cpu is a amd 2600+ (95% sure anyway). As for the heatsink and fan, no idea, you have lost me there  Come around and take a peek for us ;)

Haha...... hmmmmm; well was gonna say if it was the heat then you should buy a third party heatsink & fan for it.

After running a game go & check what temp the CPU is running at in the BIOS.
