Moving along from Mikelee's ultimate thread....
With the release of Hoops Hot prospects, UD Black and the upcoming release of UD Chronology in August, I think Non - GU Auto Patch cards will become more common in the near future.
Sure GU Jersey/Patches cards are cool, but for the majority of collectors these days, they are a bit ho hum. The rarity is no longer there.
With Chronology coming out soon, each pack is stated to have a Non - GU signed Letterman per pack.
I reckon these will be a big hit. Much like the Non GU Lettermen/Numbers out of UD Black.
The fact that they are not game worn to me doesn't make a difference.
When you think about the underlying lack of credibility that many collectors have about the companies have when it comes to authenticating GU gear, it suprises me that some people dont like the fact that they arent game used.
Over the past few years, there have been many cards ruined by the companies putting the wrong pieces of patch into the wrong cards. On top of this the companies have wound back their authentication guarantee on the backs of these cards to vaguely certify their authenticity.
Adding to this, most of the rookie cards these days that feature jersey pieces on them are from the rookie photo shoots/draft day etc, and not game worn.
Sure there should still be some GU cards out there, but limit them. Make them 1:2500 packs......make them rare again.
Whats everyone elses thoughts on this?
Cheers
Matt
