Max is free if you already have foxtel. So you can soprano binge. Finally decided to watch The Sopranos, got halfway into season 3 and poof! HBO content pulled from Foxtel with the domestic launch of HBO Max which I had no idea about. Fuck signing up for yet another streaming service, back to the high seas I sail.
Really going to hurt Foxtel/Binge too. Showcase is just back-to-back episodes of NCIS and CSI now.
Ads is for toilet breaks.Only for set top box customers, I've got Foxtel Now. And from the looks of it the free option for Foxtel customers is only for Max Basic which has ads.
Time to switch to CGA grading support local andDonald Trump Tariffs.
Tried to send off my sub to PSA today only to see they have suspended submissions until they figure out the new costs. Only subs that enter the country prior to midnight April 5 are exempt.. Apparently the tariffs affect the value cost $500 min per card as opposed to the cost of the service $25 per card.
Very keen to grade a few Lamine Yamal megacracks rookies before they strangle the PSA10 pop count.
How I wish I'd sent them a month ago. Thanks "Big D"
Yer I do hear you there mate CGA grading isn’t quite the standard that PSA holds internationally unfortunately. But with trump in the drivers seat we might have to resort to a famous quote from one George Gregan 4 more years hahaha unless trump dictates a 3rd term like he’s asking for ( wouldn’t put it past him)I'm all for Australian sports cards going into CGA holders but I'm not putting a Cale Makar/Ovechkin card in there. I do think they will get some extra business as a result of this. There's quite a few PSA slabs with NRL AFL in them and those folks may go local which is a good thing. As for me I love PSA. If CGA did away with the penny sleeve in their slab I'd be much more likely to use them.
Also, I can't even log into my PSA account. It says wrong password - which it isn't, same one since 2018. Then when you hit the '"forgot password" link and the subsequent "send password reset" link it goes into error. They probably won't miss us too much. 95% of their revenue would come from the US.
This is more than just PSA though. I have probably sold my last card into the US as a result of this. Ebay was already making it harder but now another 10% on top for the buyer.
And what happens if you want to send a stack of cards to comc?
Yer I’ve looked into that before I’ve always wondered why psa grading haven’t ventured internationally or why they haven’t set up a franchise system like McDonald’s is for example and there to worried about losing that nostalgia and standards slipping. It would only take 1 franchise to not grade cards in due diligence to start losing respect off the people who use psa as a valued service so I don’t think we will see psa leave the shores of the USA from what I’ve read but maybe they will be pushed into doing something off the kind with trumps tariffs now in place to keep international service going. But as you said I’d say 95% off the cards graded at psa would be American based so very uncertain timesCherry have yet to update their grading service page. They need to take it down - at least in regards to PSA.
Perhaps Cherry could contact CGA.
As you mentioned there's a chance that PSA, and maybe a few others based in the US, will be far less viable options in future....unless they opened up an office here.
