1X hobby of 2022 Bowman

Chill mate. 1st world problems and all that. Salas is sub .200 himself! He's not looking that good. Everyone loses their minds when a 17 year old international goes well on US soil. Luciano from 2019 Bowman actually seemed like a better bet than J Rod at the time and was close in price. I'd much rather be on Verdugo at his price than Salas at $200 for a base auto.

On a side note 2023 Bowman Chrome, which Salas is the chase card in, has an eye-popping 130 prospect auto list? That's insane. It was bad enough when there were 80 in 2019 Bowman chrome. Probably 20 of the 130 have already been released or close to it. Scandalous basically.

I'm done with wax other than local stuff. My next box opening will be AFL or NRL.

I'm not sure where the 500 comes from champ ( edit: I do now). MILB is a very limited site but I just looked at baseball reference and he's played all this year at A+ Fort Wayne ( 89 games) for a BA of .195.

And last year he played 9 games at A+ Fort Wayne with a BA of .200, 9 games at AA for .167, and 48 games at A for .267 for a grand total of 66 games at .248 across the three levels in 2023.

He is a .218 hitter since turning pro. Very underwhelming. His cards seem overvalued in a major way. His base autos are still going for $70 USD. Catchers who are good defensively but hit around the .200 mark are virtually worthless. I'm tipping his cards to shed most of their value in the next 12-24 months - unless he does something drastic. Being young only cuts it for so long.

I'd much rather be on Verdugo at the prices.

I'm guessing he will be in 2024 Bowman Chrome.

Those prices are wild when you consider the miniscule chance of him becoming a Soto/Vladdy/Tatis. 2016 Bowman Chrome is the last time that product delivered in a major way. You have Alvarez in 2018, no one in 2017, 2019, 2020, and 2021( which was supposedly at the time the greatest thing since sliced bread). Early days for 2022 and 2023 but checklists have exploded and the price of wax with it.

There's too many eyeballs on BCA's now. Everyone knows what to look for at release and because of that the field is drastically narrowed, virtually no player goes under the radar, and the chances of making money are pretty slim. I'm pretty much done with baseball prospecting. The Jackson Holliday 'dip' may have been one of the few good opportunities but it's easy in hindsight and the risk profile is ridiculous. Not to mention those prices are way out of range for me. I'd rather a real holiday than one of Jackson's base autos.

I'm going to look at local stuff more. Seems to offer a little better value.

Cherry got 20% off. All boxes "sold out" until it ends no doubt
I really dislike those antics of theirs. Also I spent $150 on breaks over 3 days and got $10 worth of cards. I really hate myself for that and it must stop. The self loathing is real.

The stuff that is currently unfolding in the US ( The scanning of packs) may eventually impact Cherry.

I'm 99% certain I've opened resealed/searched product from BO in 2018/2019. I've always assumed that it was them buying searched/resealed stuff on the secondary market but now with the scanning news you have to wonder.

I have watched a lot of those Bowman Draft Asia boxes broken at Cherry and bought one myself( mistake) and I have not seen one single Skenes or Clarke auto come out. Those are the chase cards. Not one decent auto period. In fact I don't think I've ever seen a really good Bowman Chrome auto pulled by them. Certainly not in all the Bowman breaks I've watched and participated in and that's way over a hundred breaks. Go look at a Layton break and one in three Bowman boxes will contain a decent colour auto. The whole thing stinks.

I honestly believe Cherry wouldn't do it, search/scan, but what if they are being given scanned/searched stuff from the distributors half the time? We are a small market after all. Keep the good stuff over there. Either way I'm done. It's not to be trusted anymore - and that's truly sad.

The stuff that is currently unfolding in the US ( The scanning of packs) may eventually impact Cherry. I hope it does. Normally I wouldn't but they are gatekeepers of a kind who immediately stomp on anything remotely negative in the chat like "these boxes are duds" - Blake is the worst. Dale calls it more realistically but you can't come out and say this is a joke, I'm losing 80% of my money 90% of the time. That won't fly. They know they are offering a shocking product( breaks) from a value perspective and will try to protect it as long as they can. Eventually it will get restricted somehow. It's gambling in its absolute worst form. And unregulated to boot.

I have been really good at stopping breaks. I am buying heaps more singles and actually have cards for my money. Next step is that i have to stop buying low end shit and just save up and buy bigger cards. I do like collecting little rainbows and some players i like.

They are there to sell boxes and help that 10x the hobby stuff. Rubin can pull their allocation if they don't fall into line. Can't be honest about how shit things are. It's why i am only breaking once in a blue moon now. Just had a couple of old hockey breaks get busted and did hit a card in each so happy about that ;)

On Draft, the checklist is like 120 deep. Probably right you are not seeing anyone. 2024 Chrome has 150 prospect autos LOL! Cherry are only breaking 1 asia box a fortnight though. You would need to be busting cases upon cases and they drip feed breaks to keep people hanging.

Just get more and more singles and don't feed the machine
