Ok this is not unique to me but this is the one part of collecting I hate.....

Waiting for cards to arrive.

You win the cards off ebay, you complete the trades and until the card is in your hands, theres a whole world of waiting, uncertaintly and worry just hoping the cards arrive ok.

I'm waiting on a couple of cards at the moment to arrive via USPS Global Insured/Registered delivery and after reading the stories on here recently about packages being opened and cards going missing.....

I'm crapping myself.

Hopefully I wont have anything to worry about.....like the 100's of other times I have received cards ok. I had one situation of a card going missing though I believe this was due to the seller not bothering to send the card that I won cheaply on ebay...they went NARU'd shortly after the auction.

But in saying this there's always that chance that you go to pick up the package and the card is missing, or the package simply doesnt arrive.

I'm hoping early next week that i'll receive the Aussie Post Notification saying the cards have arrived, but until then, im sweating like a Corby in Customs.

Cheers
Matt

Know how you feel, I send $50 mo then got told the seller never receieved it so silly me sent another one for $50 they said they have received this one and cards are on the way, just concerned its been over a week now and still nothing yet, asked the seller when the cards were actually sent, they didn't say when just said its on the way, starting to get really worried now

Happens to me many times...too.. some sellers just won't send the cards straight away, but it's just one time business they will get from me...

Matt, hope ur cards arrive soon....

In fact, we should have bigger collectors population here in Australia, then we will not really need to rely on US sellers so much... except /9 or less cards.. if we have like 3000 more collectors in this country, it will be real nice.. just hoping..

Yes I am sticking with the sellers I know i can trust and have purchased from before. This particular one thought was an actual card store, guess I was mistaken or they decided to pick on me seeing I'm an Aussie. Which is what bugs me the most, I left negative feedback seeing I didn't get this one particular card, they did the same, having a go saying thats the reason they willl not send, and reason why it went missing is because it had to be sent to Australia, that bugs me with some U.S. sellers.

ahh should be ok, was stressin myself recently but turned up, only 1 item never showed 4 me unfortunately it was one of the few high end items i have purchased, bugger, good luck

I use paypal on everything, and have had 7 not show in the past 2 months. Basic rule now, I give it 14 days to show, then paypal claim, that takes a month and if it rocks up in the mean time, no biggy to cancel it then and there, but at least the ball is rolling!

sounds like you're using unsafe payment methods and not choosing you sellers carfully

I tend to agree with that......I have never been ripped using eBay sellers but I am very particular with who I buy from so it does limit my collecting.

Yeah it's anxious...I notice the time dragging on when it becomes clear something is now standing out from the others bought around the same time, but generally lately it's been cause the seller has posted 2-3 weeks after payment...
However I am still awaiting an item sent a month ago now via Global Priority...and have been in talks with the seller for a number of weeks now. It's lost. I thought there was tracking, but he thought a Customs number = tracking. No. On the plus side, is is a good seller and is going to refund me the $120US odd I paid and I have another of the card on the way already from someone else with better patches
Never actually had a card not show up though. Twice now it's taken 2 months (from posting date!) as it wound up in Shipping Mail rather than Airmail, but otherwise, I'm all good :)

The money order, did you check whether it had been cashed before you sent another???? Cause I did my research on this a couple of weeks back as I was going to have to send....wait for it....$500US via Money Order  And it scared the shit out of me! But in talking with the post office dude they can be cancelled and only cashed by the ID holder meaning if lost, unable to be cashed, but still are capable of being cancelled so you get your money back. So if your first one was cashed, the seller was lying and recieved.

I used to submit cards to BGS, but then saw a few things happen which completely turned me off them. But yes, BGS were very generous to honour the voucher 8 months after expiry.

im sweating like a Corby in Customs.

Love it =D>

I hate it that I'm always waiting double/triple the time when it's a more expensive card. Cheapo stuff flys in but the big ones always seem to take so long.. I've only ever had cards not show up at all when dealing with Aussie sellers. A few times actually. No wonder those Yanks hate dealing with us :p

How ironic nice post Nash just to make me swate like Shepelle in customs like you said I just try and forget about it untill it comes, but thanks for the riminder im waiting on a cp3 the one im my sig the auto patch ESQ. Thanks for the extra clock counting.

The seller just claimed to have never received it

But did you check that out? You can check at the post office via the number on the money order whether it has been cashed or not. If it had been cashed, he recieved it cause no one else can cash it.
