this new member has a lot of malone inserts i need 4 my pc but he wants equal value in good gu cards for them, 4 instance 1 of them is 95 ultra usa bv $20(overpriced and would sell 4 crumbs on ebay) anyway they add up 2 almost $180 for 25 km inserts so he's just tryin 2 bleed me dry, NOT HAPPENEING!!!

Should there maybe be some sort of 'price conversion chart' for trades...ie:
TV of auto = 1.5 (TV of patch) = 2 (TV of jersey) = 2.5 (TV of insert) = 3 (TV of base)
Is this really the sort of thread we need on Ozcards? It is fairly common to trade BV for BV, there certainly aren't any written rules when it comes to type of card. I've had deals that I don't agree with, I say "no thanks" and move on. I don't think this type of flaming is necessary.

very interesting topic, when i started i only had base and inserts and i didnt understand why i couldnt get a trade bv for bv.
If you really need some cards sacrifices do need to be made and as DR C said if you dont like whats on offer you just say no thanks.
Even though BV is not respected by a lot of people it is the only fixed value i think to trade cards as ebay fluctuates.

I agree Beckett can be a good guide, and it definitely simplifies things. But yeah, it shouldn't come down to value exclusively. Like, I'd much rather my Marion auto (12 bucks) than a Dajuan Wagner / Jamaal Tinsley dual jersey (25 bucks). And I'd much rather that Wagner / Tinsley dual jersey than a big stack of Tinsley and Wagner RCs.

The fact is, if you have in mind what you want for something or what you're willing to pay/trade for something that's your right and your position. Some people are open to negotiation and others aren't.
I will say though, I don't even worry about BV... I mean if the person I am trading with has a concern then yes I will try find the value of what I have etc... but for me it's about getting what I need. Yes if I have a rare card, I might try and get a decent deal for it... but I wouldn't ask for BV on common inserts... rare inserts may be..... but that is not to say it is not the right of someone else to want BV... it is that diversity that makes the hobby so great... and frustrating at times.

thats my way of thinking 2, i could just trade my km dual patch bv 60 and bdiddy extra exq not priced dts say bv 80 and give $40 cash for 25 kmalone inserts i need but would rather not, offered this person $120 u.s bv in gu but they kept sayin i want the best deal i can get
there r a couple of rare 1's like 96 sky golden touch and 96 sky usa gold but they r the rarest, like i posted b4 95 ultra usa basketball bv 20 u.s, could trade it straight 4 the mj gu floor but would rather give cards away to people i like then get ripped off
Things are rare to people for different reasons. Ebay does not really indicatde a fair price, the prices vary auction to auction pending on seller, time and display. You can see hundred dollar differences for the same card sometimes. Atleast BV is straight down the line... And if I wanted the Shaq bad enough, it would be see you later Jordan Auto's. Not that I'd do that but probably some serious Shaq fan would....
