Watched the Panthers vs Bulldogs trial tonight.

Was impressed with Te Maire Martin, Hiku and a few others. Think Moylan will stay at fullback especially when you have Soward/Wallace/Martin/Moylan playing for 2 spots.

You can certainly tell that a lot of the forwards have trimmed down over the off season to fit the new interchange rules.

While he didn't play for the Dogs, Klemmer looked like he had slimmed down a lot as had most of the dogs pack. Think they could have a good year this year.

Heard Jo Tapine was left out of the official Knights 2016 team photo (asked not to attend) and not named in trial squad v Raiders this weekend. Surely this means Canberra for him in 2016, that is a huge amount of depth in the back-row for Canberra.

I have also heard that both Cordner and JWH may be out until round 10, any Roosters fans or others in the know that can confirm?

yeah trent robinson apparently confirmed, Boyd still recovering from pectorial surgery and JWH from his knee injury (between rd5-10 set to comeback)

Eels have named Tim Mannah club captain and Kieran Foran team (match day) captain.

A very good move in my books

Yeah good move, obviously following the Dragons lead who have retained Ben Creagh as Club Captain but given Widdop the on field Captaincy.

Heard Knights are playing hardball with Tapine. Won't let him train, play or be near the squad but won't release him to Canberra. Apparently they offered him to the Roosters for 2016, not sure how true any of this

Ask the Lurker

- What was the American Incident involving Mitchell Pearce
Lurker - Not something we can discuss here.... but a concern, Big Concern

It is posted under the NRL Supercoach Addicts on Face Book (still there)

Got to watch the Raiders v Knights trial as it was live streamed onto the Raiders site.

Raiders won 34-28 which doesn't mean anything in a trial but it was a tale of two halves.

Raiders 34-6 at HT and Knights 22-0 in the second half. Both team would have been about 3/4 strength for the first 35 although Hodkinson played about 65 minutes.

For the Riaders Hodgson was superb as was Sezer. Soliola was strong and I think he will start on the edges and move into the middle as the 4th prop rotation.

Both Papalii and Leilua look big and fit and Leilua looked really sharp. The right edge of Whitehead, Leilua and either Rapana or Waqa will be devastating (I am leaning toward Rapa)

For the Knights they took a while to get going but Pauli Pauli was good in the middle in the second 40, Hodkinson solid and a bit more flair than at the Dogs. A young bloke named Lachlan Fitzgibbon looked good on the left edge and one of Mata'utia brothers, maybe Chanel scored around Waqa with a wicked step where he really had no right to score.

Bring on round 1
