Betting/Punting News/Veiws

Do you punt with friends from where you live or others on the internet Mike....

And no offence taken....:D

I use too....

But I won almost everytime, and felt really bad about it :-(
Sure, they say it was no big deal, but I could feel they weren't too impressed with it all. Even though it was $10. But in the end, $10 everyday, everyweek, every month, soon added up to some unhappy mates. So, I said I didn't want to do it anymore. And just do it from the bookies now.

No, I do this on my own. Just pays for a lot of things and is an easy way for quick dollars when I need it.
There is no way I get the cards I do on the pay I get. 80%+ of it comes from punting on the NBA.
It's great for me, as it lets me learn more about the game, gets me into it more, and yes, obviously the $$$$ which is the main reason I do it.

Cool on that :-)

Yeah, just wanted to highlight the view of having $10-$20 on a $1.85 shot.
Ain't like having $500 on at $1.85 is all.

I can only assume form this that you bet quite big Mike....do you bet in syndicates or just on your own....

More importantly does your partner know about all the money you are winning/losing?

Well, I don't really want to incriminate myself here, as some already feel I am a gambling god with my picks :-D Ha ha ha ha Crazy people :-D Ha ha ha ha
I like to feel I put a lot more effort in my thought process than some other people out there is all.

It all depends bud, there are many, many, many people in this world that bet bigger than me mate, and like I said, I only do what I do, because I am good at it and it pays for things, that's it. I ain't in it for some glory trip or anything like that. I do it for the $$$$.
But yes, my mates think I do some crazy stuff at times.

But to answer your question, lets just say I am a Gold member with TAB and a VIP member with Sporting Bet. I'll let your imagination do the rest ;-)
And no, no syndicate.

Thought that may have been the case....I have some friends that bet big like this....I went through a couple of months where i bet big like that....but not having the time to study it properly cost my big on a couple of occassions....and therefore i made myself stop.

I also had to stop a lot of the "regular" punting i was doing as me and the bride are getting married in October and then heading over seas for 12 months....so plenty of saving to do between no and then

I have the smaller bets for a bit of fun and interest.

Don't worry he loses quite often too......especially on Sydney
He just doesn't like to talk about the losses, that is why he NEVER tells us how much he has down ;)

That all being said & done.....Mike does give good tips :)

That's right bud, and that's where, sadly, my friends fall down as well. Then, I got to dig them out of a hole with their silly mistakes.
That just punt on a whim, and they multi, multi, multi. And they wonder why they always lose. Anyway, you can't change them.

In the end, it doesn't matter how much you put on. We all want to win in the end, that's the name of the game. But to "consitently" win, you gotta put in the effort to at least look at a few things and think about stuff.

But like you said, and that's the biggest point. Only punt within reason and what you can afford to lose. There is no point ruining your home life over this sort of stuff. Which I have sadly seen with a few of my mates over the years :-(

They are back to back and travelling....but $2.65 seems like good value considering todays game.

You often find thatthe odds are up before the results of todays are in....so maybe they havent been adjusted yet??

Well, like I said, this is why you wait.

Nuggets now $2.85 to win!!!!!

There has been huge money on the Clippers to smash the Nuggets.

OK....got a couple on today....

Western Bulldogs to Win - Should be a top game to watch, Akers 250th and I think this will be his coming out game and will have a blinder against the Crows. Bulldogs for me easily....should win by 6-8 goals!
Port to Win - The team that surprised many last week with a win away from home against the highly fancied Dockers will play their first home game against the unlucky Kangaroos this week. Ports young guns are really exciting and the team is all about Speed and the quick play on, this will make it hard for the Kangas unless Adam Simpson really dictates the speed of the game by winning at the stoppages and counter-acting with speed by dishing off to Wells and Sinclair. The question is still can the Kangaroos kick a winning score with no real key position forward.....and the answer is nope. They got run down by the Pies () last week and now playing away from home will see a flogging i reckon....
Dallas -14 - Dallas coming of a loss to the nuggets are playing the under strength Blazers....Zachy out, Aldridge out and now Roy out, spells a huge road loss for the Blazers....My only fear is that Dallas have a tendancy of sitting their stars down when they get a good lead.....which may keep it close....

Paying $3.15.....$25on.....$78.75....:partyman:

So are you jumpin on Mike?? Are all the nuggets playing??

I don't think I will bud, well, not with a large bet anyway.

The Clippers are very well rounded in what they do, not a superstar team, but they play team ball.
Also, the biggest factor for me, is the Clippers have had a day to plan for this crucial game, and it is a crucial game.
If the Nuggets had a days break, and didn't have that Mavs game, I would be a lot more confident and would certainly take the 4.5 head start on offer.
Another factor is there has been big, big money on the Clippers. It takes a heap of the stuff to make it come in $0.20, which suuggest, that someone will not make an appearance, probably AI. But that's yet to be confirmed.

Well, I'm going to take a the Clippers mate, always follow the big players ;-)

Good luck, I'll ber off to visit my sick grandma now, so catch you guys later with a win, when the Clippers hammer the Nuggets.
