You seriously didn't expect to see a Skip20 mailday featuring Jabari Parker, Andrew Wiggins and co did you? So that's why I'm showcasing the Non All-NBA Rookie Team selections...

The Obligatory GU

Elfrid Payton Certified GU /249 - reminds me of a young Jason Kidd, desperately needs to develop a reliable jump shot though. My only All-Rookie Team card - promise!

Kyle Anderson Art Nouveau GU /299 - love these oversized GU Art Nouveau cards. Slo Mo certainly doesn't have the athletic prowess to compete at the NBA level but that just highlights his great basketball IQ. A good all rounder who can contribute on the boards, with assists or with putting the ball in the hoop. Could develop into a real point forward... A Boris Diaw clone.

Joel Embiid Art Nouveau GU /299 - some say he's the next Hakeem Olajuwon! I'm going to go out on a limb and say he's more like the next Festus Ezeli, a mobile big who can motor down the court, play above the rim, block a shot or two and probably be a decent rebounder. Has the tools to be a great defender but not sure about the heart and hustle. Not sure what Philly is doing either - Noel, Embiid, MCW and KJ MCDaniels would have been quite a future defensive force...

The Scribble

Markel Brown Prizm auto /199 - had a chance to play some minutes at the Nets and had a couple of good games. A backcourt tweener with an amazing leap but mediocre handle and not a shot creator. Reminds me a bit of Shannon Brown or Gerald Green with a much more inconsistent outside shot. Basically relies on his hops to jump over people.... Could win a dunk contest though!

Kyle Anderson Hoops auto - see Slo Mo comments above...good fundamentals and will be a Spurs fixture for the long term.

Jordan Adams Certified Roll Call auto /299 (on card) - Not atheltically gifted and doesn;t do any one thing particularly well but plays real aggressively and gets more than his fair share of FTs and can finish around the rim. Streaky shooter who plays well off the ball but more so from working good angles as a cutter instead of a catch and shoot type guy. No quick first step or amazing handle means he struggles to create his own shot in iso, off the dribble or as the ballhandler in the P&R. Good instincts defensively but poor fundamentals. Odd fit for the veteran defensively orientated Grizzlies team who needed an outside shooter - look for him to be moved soon...

Lucas Nogueira Prizm auto /99 - 7 footer who's rail thin but has the athleticism of a guy much smaller. Needs to add some bulk but plays above the rim blocking shots, rolling t the rim and finishing oops with emphasis. Great in transition but will struggle guarding the Hulks of the NBA one on one. Great fit for any run n gun team. Very McGee like qualities!

Spencer Dinwiddie Certified auto /99 - Firstly, check out this guys mustache! Teh Mayor is a big guard who is equally adept at running the point or hitting the boards. Good first step and A grade ball handler who can read the D, an improved jump shooter who was a bit inconsistent in the pros this year. A triple threat in the P&R situation - games translates well to the pros and should have a successful career.

Rodney Hood Prizm auto /499 - very much a one way player with a sweet looking jump shot and not much else. Bit of a soft player for someone 6'8' and is allergic to paint and glass (doesn't get into the lane or rebound well for a SF). Defensively sub-par and lacking in aggression... However, did I mention he can shoot the ball? That one skillset can come in quite handy for a game like basketball! Even guys like Kyle Korver can be all-stars...

Doug McDermott Prizm auto /499 - Dougie McBuckets! Rodney Hood on roid rage! Has the offensive smarts and basketball IQ to succeed but lacks the athletic tools others have. Look for another dominant summer league performance and increased role next season (they did give up two first rounders for him!). Surely offers a lot more than an aging Mike Dunleavy.... Bulls could have used another scoring option come playoff time.

TJ Warren Gold Standard GU / auto /149 (on card) - Bit of Cedric Ceballos about this guy - finishes around the rim like a boss and has a nose for the offensive glass. No real outside shot but a decent bag of tricks. Best case scenario a Shawn Marion type player....

Damien Inglis Penmanship auto /99 (on card) - Sweet looking cards which would have benefited from a bigger sig. Jury is out on this kid - a physical and athletic specimen developing his feel for the game. Still only a teenager so time will tell if his skills catch up with his physical gifts...

Well that's it for now - nothing major but thanks for stopping by and having a look at the NBA's 'other rookies'. Comments are always appreciated.

Awesome. Love the Elfrid. I started a side PC of him until he started pulling off triple doubles. His price went up and it was either go broke collecting him and PG or sell up and actually make some money off his cards.

Definitely some unrealistic prices during that triple double streak, you made the right call imo. Give it a few seasons and you'll pick hi stuff up at fractions of the price when he still hasn't learnt to shoot and keep the D honest.

Nice lot, that Inglis auto is just strange.:):):)

Definitely a case of shrinkage! Probably symptomatic from signing too many sticker autos! Great looking cards though...screaming out for a massive auto!

Another great mailday. There is some serious potential in the 14-15 class, exciting times ahead for sure!

One of the deeper rookie crops in recent times for sure, legit prospects from start to finish. Only time will tell!

Wow, nice fro on Lucas.
Nice mailday mate.

Imagine how much higher he'd fly without that impeding his aerodynamics!

Great crop there Skip, I'm working my way through a challenge to grab an auto from all of the rd1 & rd2 rookies, about 30 so far

Very strong crop indeed - could be one of the best ever. Try to pick up non rookie year cards for a fraction of the price! Good luck getting cards of the euro stash players though!

I really like those Art jersey cards, would be good to complete the set!!

I'm going after last years (weaker) rookie crop and picked these two up by mistake - but still great looking cards regardless. Does make for a good set chase!

Good to see someone believes in Slo Mo, not a lot of love from the Spurs faithful just yet!

It's not like he was going to crack the rotation straight away! You can;t just stick him on a Lebron or a Durant and expect him to hold his own. Has to find his own unique niche in the NBA - but he definitely has one.

Great insights on some players i've paid zero attention to this season. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Even lottery picks aren't guaranteed playing time. Dougie McBuckets could be the next Larry Bird or Adam Morrison. It was a very deep draft so expect to see these names around the league for along time!

Very nice variety of cards in your mailday, my fav is the Payton !

Who doesn't like a big PG? Penny, Magic and the Big O - Elfrid has game but the kid has to learn how to shoot first though, could be the next Rondo?
