COMC Mailbox Thread

Just a passing comment, not too stressed, but thought to bring it to you @Moe@COMC.

I have had submissions of newer sets from 13/14 & 14/15, but quite often the card identification isn't notated and comes across as-

I think the guys in the receiving could find the info a bit better and checklists aren't hard to obtain either...

Just a thought anyway!

Hey mate, go back a page or two. Details are no longer being added unless we request it to be done....

True? Its not much effort to type in what the card is though I'd have thought since all the info is usually on the card itself that's required.... Ohh well!

It makes it really hard to try and figure out what you actually have in your mailbox now, when using just the list view..
Ive got a couple of hundred items ready to go, and used to export the list and cross reference it with my checklists to
make sure i knew exactly everything that was coming in.

You're right in that it wouldn't take much effort to type in the info on one card, but we're not set up that way - when we have new cards arrive, we have to input the info for every card from every set (includig subsets, inserts, etc), and that does get to be a little time consuming. And, it's not always the case that all the info is available on the card, itself...We know we have to get all the information eventually, but in the meantime we're doing what we can to facilitate quicker deposit times for the Mailbox service.

Just wondering how much they're charge for shipping back to Australia per card currently got a few going to COMC mailbox.

Hey Moe,

But thats funny as been using COMC for a year odd and cards had always been entered correctly til recently. Does that mean we dont pay the processing mailbox $1 fee if not done correctly??

If you want the card identified, you can send in a correction request and we'll do it for you. The thought from the Mailbox team was that since the majority of Mailbox submissions never make it to the website, they'd save time and be able to utilize their resources better by attaching the generic "2014 Mailbox Submission" tag and only identifying the ones that need to be identified...i.e., those that are going to be consigned. Either way, if the card is processed and deposited into your account, you'll still pay the processing fee.

Hi Moe

With the "mailbox submission" tag will there be any note on condition if it is damaged in any way?
Just in regards to contacting the seller/group breaker/whoever it came from before it gets sent back to us from COMC

IMO the majority of people who signed up to COMC from AU (and other overseas locations) did so because of the feature to receive cards from US sellers which were previously unattainable.

If my memory serves me correctly, this then created the "toploader" backlash against COMC when we all realised we had to pay for new toploaders, even though our original toploaders were fine.

COMC then countered this argument by stating 'we need to remove them to process them into the inventory, and for potential sale'.

Now that COMC have realised and admitted that their initial intentions for the service aren't being met by the customers, is there scope to possibly look out how 'Mailbox' submissions are now managed?

A cheaper service that avoids the card identification, website upload, multiple scans and removal of toploaders could be looked at to:

A) save time for COMC as they now realise that "the majority of Mailbox submissions never make it to the website" as per Moe above, and;
B) meet the demands of customers who actually want this service.

Just my two cents, currently happy with the service ($1 per submission) if new toploaders are provided, cards are identified and the front and back of cards are displayed to us for either potential sale or shipment.

Regards,

I'm sure if there are any condition notes, they would be noted when the Mailbox team first open the envelope and start the transaction...same as usual.

My first card purchased from Ebay and Sent to COMC arrived today received and email with the photo of the cards front and back, 1 hour later its in my inventory on COMC, now thats Service,
now i know it works i have confidence to start making more purchases this way

But why do we have to ask for a correction in the first place that's what I was saying. Doesnt make sense. You dont buy Nike and asl for the swoosh to be attached later.

We pay $1 for each card to be processed surely with the card not being identified and all being generic it is technically not being processed as it once was.

To save time on processing surely would save time on costs and therefore to us. I have no problems spending $1 each card but don't want to be asking for a correction and waiting days for that correction because someone couldn't be bothered in the first place! Ive spend hundred if not thousands using the service. Would have been nice if comc asked customers or notified them what they planned to do!
