If you want the card identified, you can send in a correction request and we'll do it for you. The thought from the Mailbox team was that since the majority of Mailbox submissions never make it to the website, they'd save time and be able to utilize their resources better by attaching the generic "2014 Mailbox Submission" tag and only identifying the ones that need to be identified...i.e., those that are going to be consigned. Either way, if the card is processed and deposited into your account, you'll still pay the processing fee.
IMO the majority of people who signed up to COMC from AU (and other overseas locations) did so because of the feature to receive cards from US sellers which were previously unattainable.
If my memory serves me correctly, this then created the "toploader" backlash against COMC when we all realised we had to pay for new toploaders, even though our original toploaders were fine.
COMC then countered this argument by stating 'we need to remove them to process them into the inventory, and for potential sale'.
Now that COMC have realised and admitted that their initial intentions for the service aren't being met by the customers, is there scope to possibly look out how 'Mailbox' submissions are now managed?
A cheaper service that avoids the card identification, website upload, multiple scans and removal of toploaders could be looked at to:
A) save time for COMC as they now realise that "the majority of Mailbox submissions never make it to the website" as per Moe above, and;
B) meet the demands of customers who actually want this service.
Just my two cents, currently happy with the service ($1 per submission) if new toploaders are provided, cards are identified and the front and back of cards are displayed to us for either potential sale or shipment.
