The Australian cricket non-official thread!

Update on SA VS QLD
Overnight the game was destined to be draw but then stepped in Chadd Sayers after taking a hat-rick in the first innings, he then ripped through the QLD batsmen with ease.
Picking up 6/34 of 20 Overs bowling 10 of the 20 overs in Maidens.
After nipping out three quick wickets Zampa decided to join the party picking up three wickets very quickly to ends Queensland innings.
Joe Burns who was not out overnight was unlucky and got out for a very solid 98 bowled Zampa caught Cosgrove being the last wicket to fall.
South Australia then headed out to bat needing 228 off 80 overs.
The South Australians got off to a quick start before Andrew Mcdonald was given out. he disagreed with the decision as he walked off.
this did not stop Mark Cosgrove as he powered his way too 75 before getting out.
Callum Ferguson and Tom Cooper came together and they shared a partnership of 113* as Ferguson scored 65* and Cooper 68*

Man of the match - Chadd Sayers with 9/82 off 47 overs which included 16 Maidens.

In the end the South Australia won quite easily, i don't think many would of picked it considering the form of the South Australians in the Matador BBQ Cup.

Points (Unofficial) - SA 7.12 & Qld 1.24.

Crikey, Pakistan should petition the ICC to play ALL their Tests in the UAE.

Some amazing recent statistics:

Teams scores of 454 & 2/286 dec., 6/570 dec. & 3/293 dec. (against Australia) and now 3/566 dec. against New Zealand.

They are averaging 122.5 per wicket since the second innings of the first Test against Australia.

Younis Khan's last five Test innings have been: 106, 103*, 213, 46, 100* = 568 runs @ 189.33
Misbah Ul-Haq's last four Test innings have been: 69, 101, 101*, 102* = 373 runs @ 186.50

Good luck bowling to that lot!!

The NZ v Pakistan test was like watching a replay of the Aussie tests. Same thing. Flat deck, Pakistan win toss & bat & bat & bat.

Three batsmen scored hundreds & the other two were in the eighties & nineties when they were dismissed. The opener who scored 186 was only out after he was hit in the head & dropped his bat on the stumps. Guess he was surprised it actually bounced! Poor bloke copped a fractured skull from it.

Will be interesting to see if NZ do any better against the Pakistan spin attack.

As a heads up guys and girls - according to EzyDvd there is a DVD that will be released on 10th December titled "World Beaters":

"In celebration of the 2015 ICC World Cup in Australia and New Zealand, we've scoured the archives for Australia's greatest victories on home soil against member nations. World Beaters features a great ODI match between Australia and each of the main cricketing countries - England, India, Sri Lanka, New Zealand, Pakistan, South Africa, West Indies, Zimbabwe and Bangladesh. Final list of matches should be confirmed next week. Hope this is enough to get you started."

Might be a goer! :-)

I hope NZ conduct an urgent review in to their test team's performance.

Love how they celebrated the hit wicket wicket whilst the batsman is laying on the ground without realising he'd been hurt. If Aussie fielders did that Craddock and co would be bleating on about the 'ugly Australian'...lol.

Listed as box set...here's hoping it's each full match.

My pick vs NZ is the underarm game. Still one of the most thrilling ODIs ever. Would love to see first ODI vs Sth Africa in 1993/94 at MCG when Slater went the tonk but I don't think we won it. So I chose the one when Gilly went apeshit first time opening or at SCG in 1997/98 when half the crowd was ejected and I made the back page of the DT. A game against India at SCG in 1999/2000 where we smashed 'em is a corker. Gilly and Waugh teeing off against SL would be a good in too.

Yep, I reckon that win last year against England at the Gabba, the narrow win against Zimbabwe in Perth where Douglas Marillier kept scooping Glenn McGrath in the final over, hopefully the first final against the West Indies in 1988/89 (but probably the "Michael Bevan" match), the Brett Lee last-over six game you mentioned, maybe the last-over win against south Africa at Etihad Stadium (when Warney straight drove Pollock and the ball deflected off the non-striker's end stumps for the winning single)....a lot to choose from!!

Just watching the Bevan one now against WI. I reckon a rain affected ODI vs SA at the SCG in 93/94 would be a good one - Reiffel had a field day. Another Bevan from behind win against NZ in 01/02 with Bichel.

I remember the game vs South Africa - it was a week-night game and I had watched Australia scramble to 170-odd. It was the evening of our School presentation night and I missed almost the entire South Africa innings - 69 all out!

I was at it. Used to go to every SCG ODI. They were the days! Tempted to go this Sunday actually.

You and I will end up like the old ladies that hang over the fence for a chin-wag whilst hanging out their washing......."Do you remember way back in 1991 When Simon O'Donnell hit that big six at the SCG against England? Yeeeees, he was a lovely young chap..." :-)

I was at the "underarm game"still one of the most disappointing things I have seen on a cricket field, another game involving the kiwi's,big Lance Cairns belting a 50 of not many balls which might have been the fastest back there in a losing battle, seen a couple of good days at "the G in test matches who could forget the chant of lillee steaming in and getting viv Richards on the last ball of the day to leave W.I at 3-10 after dismissing AUS for not many

I was there that game...... was very dirty that we didn't get to see Warney bowl.

Reiffel was on fire....i remember the run out direct hit as we were sitting right behind him.

Awesome night!

Cheers
Matt

I'm still dirty with Lillee for knocking over Viv on that final ball of the day...
I had a ticket for the next day's play - lived in Bacchus Marsh at the time and had to take a train in - was hoping to see Viv in action, so thanks very much Dennis.....
He broke the record for most wickets for an Aussie by getting Gomes or Lloyd, crowd went up but I sat on my hands!!!
Got to see every ball of Viv's 208 in 84/85 though :p

YES!!!! It was an amazing time with Warne. You'd wait until they announced the teams and felt cheated when he didn't play.
Anyone remember a washed out game at SCG in 00/01 when Lara went ballistic and nearly won it but for the rain. Amazing game.
