Official NBL 2014/15 Season Thread

Do you guys think James Spenceley has saved the Hawks but at the same time, caused a few problems too? From what I have heard, signing Nevill was Spenceley's decision, as was getting rid of Gruber.

Having said that, the decision to go with 2 small PG's was a mistake and once Martin gets back into game shape he will no doubt take the starting job off one of them. There is a reason Ervin doesn't stick with a team for longer than 1 season.

I don't see the Hawks getting rid of both Ervin and Carson, but at 1-8, their season is pretty much done and crowds look like they are dropping.

How long until Spenceley gets sick of this and decides to jump ship?
 
Yeah it's like its playing fantasy Bball in real life lol

Maybe need to start over - lose Carson, Ervin, Larry and maybe Nevill. I dunno, it's hard cause all have had decent games here and there but just aren't connecting at the same time. Depends who's out there to sign too
 
Yeah exactly mate. I feel for Wollongong and their fans. They finally get a saviour and he starts making basketball decisions that he has no idea about.

I doubt any(more) Aussies go this season, but one of Ervin or Carson should go since they are just too similar.
 
Ervin great player but he's a me based player! Has never made his team successful. Even last year with my Sixers he did some stupid stuff.

Good to see Cairns have a winning team again! Looking forward to seeing Motum play for us :)
 
Another loss for the Hawks.....

Carson 1/13 FG's and doesn't seem to be getting along with Ervin at all.

Any play that ends up in a 3 for Ervin is not a good one IMO, on a team with Forman, Conraad and Rhys Martin and even Larry Davidson......
It's just not going to bring you back when you are down points or win you any games, it's not.

(Oscar 0-5, Rhys 2/7 3's this game I know but Ervin is not a 3 point shooter).

Season is so bad I can't believe it
 
This sucks for the Hawks and their fans.

Ervin was a mistake and then so was Carson when they already had Ervin. Nevill was a mistake, as was cutting Gruber.

The only good thing has been bringing Martin back in when he couldn't get a contract in Europe, but why they didn't cut Ervin or Carson is puzzling.

Even so, a team that looks like this wouldn't have been 1-9: (replace Ervin with someone like McRae, Beal or Craig and it would be even better!)

Coenraad - Hill
Forman - Gruber
Davidson - Ballinger
 
Awesome to see the Hawks get another W.

Childress is a heck of a player, but the Kings wont make the playoffs unless a couple of other player step up!

Haven't seen anything from Perth, Sydney or Townsville yet and who knows what Melbourne will do :lol:

Great game between Perth and Adelaide last night. Hell of a fight all night and good to go away with the W and a chance still to make the playoffs.
