Official NBL 2014/15 Season Thread

Gonna be interesting to see what happens there with Childress!

There is no place for that sort of thing in basketball. I am all for playing hard and physical but you can't just be running at players and hitting them with your elbow. Could be out for at least a week or two for that. His tongue in cheek tweet was pretty funny though, that may also cost him a bit of $$ from an NBL fine.

Looked like a bit of shoulder from that angle but can't really tell.
Does this show how soft the NBA is getting if these guys can't take the NBL? :p

That was a dirty screen, Wagstaff's elbows were raised. He definitely got a bit of shoulder as well. Perth play a physical brand of basketball, "ruffell the feathers" of other teams and get them to react. Basically a wannabe version of the Bad Boy Detroit Pistons in the late 80's.

Childress went way over the top but the screen wasn't on either. I don't think you'll be seeing Wagstaff set a screen on Childress again anytime soon...

Didn't watch the game but have read that Childress was getting elbowed a few times in the game with no call from the Ref. Can anyone that watched the game confirm this?

Completely legal screen man and on the replay his elbows are raised at a normal height for a screen. I don't think they're "wannabe Bad Boys" at all. Perth have been tough for years now and even greater at home. Hats off to them for being a great team, I'm a Brisbane Bullets fan and they used to get under our skins too.

I think Childress will be seeing many more screens like that as he's shown he's weak minded.

Sounds like he may not be hanging around after that episode.

Watch the replay, there was nothing illegal about the screen and it certainly was not dirty. Just a big screen that Childress didn't see coming.

Childress can expect even more attention now from every other team, including Perth.

Not elbowed, maybe a few hacks, but nothing more than any other big name gets. He got the benefit of the doubt a few times too.

Just a brain fart really. He is not usually a dirty player. He will probably cop a 1 game suspension and everyone will move on.

You sure?

Like Childress can't handle it, he played in the NBA for a while.

Not at all, I said above he is not usually a dirty player, he just had a brain explosion. But if you react like that, you have to expect extra attention now.
