After all the summer league tonnage I thought I'd better scan up some PC cards to show that I'm still on a mission and not some wild goose chase!
Before I get to the impressive Q-Pon clippings I'll kick off with some Will Barton who I hope has a big year (CJ McWho?)...
Fleer Retro Rookie Sensations - wasn't ever one of my favourite designs so not sure why they brought this particular design back - but they have nailed the old school look ( I suppose you can when you copy it exactly!)
Quest - not a bad looking product and at least the sticker auto wasn't an afterthought, but with a nice big designated signing spot like that it;s just screaming out for a big on card sig!
Innovation - I liek the little RC emblem and these cards always seem to have the best action shots which capture the moment and intensity of the game.
Momentum - fairly under-rated product imo, nicely designed, good finish and a heap of hits per pack. ...again with the sticker auto though.
Gold Standard by name and gold standard by nature. Rookie emblem probably would've cheapened the look of this card, nice use of memorabilia as part of the card's design and just look at that big on card scribble!
Now on to an acetate lesson... Acetate is great when used properly, but lesson one is to not slap a sticker over it and make it the focal point of the card. The bronze lettering just looks wrong too.
Better acetate with nice serial numbering but loses marks because die cut reduces the pic and auto size.
YES! Designated signing spot with big oncard auto, nice action shot and subtle use fo the RC emblem in the top right corner - elite indeed!
Now onto the man of the moment - Q-Pon himself! Brace yourselves for some short printed goodness! For once I'll shut up and let the cards do the talking!
The Autos
Prestige auto /249 - saved this from the bargain basement bin. The ignominy!
SP Letterman x2 /299 - this now gives me O-N-D-E-X-T-E-R, P is on the way soon enough! Surprisingly hard to chase down actually...
Prestige NBA logo auto /10 - BGS 9 with a 10 auto.
The Memorabilia - ordinarily these would come before the autos, but you're about to see why they didn't this time around!
TT Quad GU /99 (no this is not why)
TT Quad Patch /10 (sexy Q-Pon patch too)
Prestige Patch /10!!!
Abs Mem Patch /10!!!
What's better than those? Then how about my second one of these!
TT logotag /5!!!!!!! Two of these but still haven't tracked down the auto version yet....some help please!
Thanks for looking and as always comments are always appreciated. PC skip20 is back!
....and remember everybody, Q-Pon ftw!
