Official 2013-14 Playoffs Thread - SPOILERS!

OKC should pick up DJ Augustin, he'd still be pretty cheap. Run Westy as the SG and there's the benefit of DJ and Durant having played college ball together so they'd know each others game pretty well.

Not a bad idea at all. Even if it is not Augustin, there are so many PG's out there who are reasonably priced, OKC should be able to get a decent PG, shift Westbrook over to SG. This still gives OKC the option of bringing Reggie Jackson off the bench for bench scoring. I think their main priority though should be deciding what to do with Perkins. As an expiring contract he will have a fair bit of interest in him from teams that want to reduce salary for the 2015 Free Agency bonanza, so OKC could get a decent player/s back in return, even if it is not a Centre, in which case they start Adams who won't do any worse that Perkins, especially on offense.

do you think Lance is worth a max contract? he is a talent, and plays both ends and is a decent playmaker to boot and often during the series he seemed like their best player...but I cant help but think latrell Sprewell and isiah rider, super talents but head cases!!!! im not certain Indiana will resign him, they need to make some tweeks and build around George, but are other teams going to risk a max or large contract on him??? I would be dubious...

I'm not sure about Indiana, they need some serious changes. If they were in the West they would have been eliminated 1st round and probably the 9th and 10th ranked may have eliminated them if given the chance. Something's not right there and I don't know if they George is the "superstar" he is made out to be. What the hell happened to Roy Hibbert?? Lance is a nutcase, not sure of the best way to handle him, reminds me of Ron Artest, but a better player. I think the Wizards can overtake them next year.

As a proud Pacers fanatic, it pains me to admit that I have to agree with nearly everything you said. If Paul George was your 2nd best player you would be happy, but I am not sure if he can consistently produce Game 5 type games and carry a team on his back on a regular basis. If anyone can fix Hibbert they should give that person half of Hibbert's salary, coz he certainly isn't earning it himself, and Lance Stephenson has to be the most polarizing player in the NBA right now. Artest is actually a really great example, he is the guy who you love to have on your team and the guy you hate playing against, but at some stage the antics start to hurt the Pacers more than they help them, but having watched all but 5 of the Pacers games this year (love League Pass) I have seen some fantastic performances from Stephenson, remembering that he led the league this year in Triple Doubles, which is no mean feat, so he definitely has the talent to help a team win games, but at what point does he become too much of a distraction?

DEFINITELY NOT worth max money. Yes, very talented, but max money comes with great responsibilities, which no smart GM, let alone the great Larry Legend, would be willing to leave in Stephenson's hands. I would say that Stephenson will get offer from Pacers of around $30M for 4 years, but some other teams might go as high as $40M for 4 years, so it will come down to whether Stephenson wants to win now with the Pacers, or go for the glory of being a main guy (or at least a clear 2nd best guy) with a less competitive team. It will be interesting to see how it all plays out in the offseason.

Stephenson seems to have the green light to bring back some old school rough play, I mean if you can get away with that face slap with no reprimand from Vogel or Bird surely he does? If Bird loves him that much maybe they'll match the higher offer?

I like Stevenson, he's a dark horse. good defender and will improve. Good analogy with Artest, you just never knew what kind of game you'd get out of him..but his quiet 20pts 6?rebs in the Lakers last Game 7 Finals v Caltics was what won them the Chip. I won't forget that.
Keep Stevenson, get him an ethics coach or something to get his head around being a professional sportsperson.. I don't mind the antics on the court, I thought it was all a bit of fun, but most of the NBA echelon classify it as 'not being in the spirit of the game'. Trash talking was a huge part of the game a decade ago.. now its frowned upon?! Same with the slightest bit of intimidation after slamming on someone... just can't do anything anymore. Getting a bit too regimented.

I'd be trading Hibbert, he appears very disjointed from the team, I also think he's too slow up and down the court for his age. Unfortunately Hibbert's value is lower that it should be at the moment after his post season performance, and with a super contract, so he would be hard to move in a trade for anything really handy that the Pacers need.

Paul G is a great player, but is he great enough to lead the team for the future ala Bron, Durant, Kobe??

David West, he is awesome, my favorite player on the Pacers.. Keep him for sure

George Hill?? Scola and Turner?? What to do?

I think Indy will keep him all day. They should get a slight discount after his antics in the Playoffs.

I actually disagree with the Artest comparison. Artest was a lock down defender and was intimidating because he was a thug. He could back it up at both ends too and carried some good teams. The Rockets vs Lakers that went 7 comes to mind. I don't think anyone is scared of Lance.

Game 1 tomorrow is gonna be crazy.

Last years Spurs started well after sweeping the Grizz and the Heat went 7. This year Parker is limping in (possibly).

My head says Lebron gets his 3rd in a row.

But my hearts screams for the Spurs to get no.5 for Timmy.

May the best team win.

come on spurs , i really dont want to see heat win again , would love to see timmy and hes royal gang win one more before he retires.... i was never a big fan of timmy , but year in year out the big man just keeps that big heart of his going. one of the best true basketball players of my time . oh and go patty mills!

Oh no.... Lebron cramping out badly! Spurs rolling away now! No team can come back from this.... unless you have Ray Allen.....

Oh.... wait! :(

That Ray Ray slam was awesome.. seeing him get up like that shocked the sh1t out of the whole world!!! haha

Both teams had long stretches of bad play.. both offensively and defensively.
39 combined turnovers.
Both teams had trouble closing out on wing shooters.

Wade played like '06 wade 1st half (8/11), then like '13 Wade in the 2nd. (1/7)

I think the no a/c and 30 degC affected both teams the same. Some moronic adolescent Heat fans saying they might have done it on purpose... *smh*
Yeah, like you'd do that to your own team and your fans... *slap*

Bron just had some serious cramps happening. I haven't felt those in a long while, but yeah, I remember its pretty debilitating. I'm sure he'll be better for Game 2.
Lets hope the a/c is also.
