COMC Mailbox Thread

Thank you for using our beta Mailbox Service!

The COMC Mailbox Service was developed organically in cooperation with COMC users. We are thrilled it has proved quite popular, especially with our international customers. After reviewing our trial period data, we will be updating this service.

Starting February 1st, all Mailbox submissions will be processed as follows:

Mailbox Service:

  • Cards only (No comics, publications, photos, or other memorabilia)
  • Price: $1 per item
  • Cards can be any size, including graded/encased
  • No minimum number of items
  • Processing Time: 1-3 days
How it works:

When we receive your mailbox package, you will receive an email notification, and we will process your items immediately. Your items will be in your account 1-3 days later, and you will be billed when your items are uploaded to your COMC account.

What if there are issues?

  • If we detect issues with your items (i.e. authenticity concerns), we will contact you before uploading them to your account. You may still be responsible for processing fees.
  • If you are unhappy with your items and wish to send them back to the original owner, you will be responsible for the shipping costs.
Bonus Cards:

Some sellers include "bonus" cards with their packages. All items sent to your COMC Mailbox will be processed at $1/card. If you notice cards you don't want were uploaded with your Mailbox purchase, you can receive a refund for the processing charge of any unwanted card by selecting the 'Donate to Charity' option on the Actions dropdown for that card. The Actions dropdown is accessible through the Inventory Manager section of your Dashboard.

Thanks for making our new COMC Mailbox such a success! If you have any additional questions or concerns, please email us at Staff@COMC.com. We want to hear from you.

Be sure to keep up with all the COMC news and announcements by following us on our Blog, as well as our International Facebook and International Twitter pages!

Thanks!

Moe @ COMC

Really glad they changed the process on this, will save a lot of time and be automatic so thats good

I thought is started on the 20th Jan.

@Moe@COMC Question.. I just had cards processed into my inventory under the new 3 day processing. I can list them for sale, but why can't I make them ready for shipment?

technical glitch i'd say - i cant add cards to shipment either, even though the rest were fine when adding during the month,

Also can someone clear up this incase I missed it after the processing fee of adding the card to mailbox how much extra is it to have it shipped?
Isn't it 25c why the hell is mine showing 45c each even now?

What is it meant to be when the new fees take effect?
Someone please lmk asap

I think it's good that you can donate those unwanted cards to charity and be refunded the processing fee. I have a quick question though, do cards processed in a one touch stay in a one touch? I'm still unaware if that is happening and wouldn't want to send a card thinking it was in one without buying a top loader.

Yeah so did I. Moe sent me their new announcement via e-mail (which clearly many of us do not know about) that they are bringing it in February 1st. And yet, some of my cards that were delivered today have been marked for the $1/card processing fee, while others remained on the original January 20th 50 cent/card deadline.

Mistake or not, to move forward the changes like this without much notice should not be the user's financial responsibility.

Looks like if you card arrives in a toploader they will leave it in it and just charge you an extra 20c anyway (hence the 45c).... LOL! we all scratch our heads for months why cards arriving in toploaders get taken out and we have to pay 20c to get them put in a new one.... We ask is there any alternative.... well, here it is kids.... They will leave it in the toploader it arrived in.... YAY!.... They will just charge us an extra 20c anyways...BOO!..... Now that is "streamlining services" everyone (great work if you can get it)..... I like the part about wanting us to send to our mailbox for group breaks... I bought in 3 last night and paid the extra to send them to Australia, this isnt even close to viable for group breaks now....

It is what it is, they have little to no competition for this service so they have just figured out the max they can charge before it's not viable for intl collectors and they are charging it! (just like Ebay do)

To those who are questioning why the are getting charged $1/card before the deadline..... haven't you realised by now? they just make it up as they go!

But it IS their system.

I just hope COMC don't withdraw their international support completely.

Just want to know why I STILL can't add my recent purchases to my shipment?!?

Looks like my base and insert lots will have to go through my comgateway account now! I agree the new system is great for buying singles but for those trying to take a larger chunk out of their wantlists it is a major disadvantage

I only received the email yesterday and it states the 1st of Feb. If I get charged $1 per card before that I will definitely be boycotting the site as I'm going to take action now to prevent some mail going there. I was getting all my eBay purchases and group breaks sent there but now I'll definitely be reconsidering. It's fine for NT or Immaculate type breaks but for Prizm or Certified where there is a tonne of high numbered hits it was barely worthwhile at 50c a card. At $1 when your selling most of the singles for $2 whats the point. I've notified my group breakers so now I'll just get them to send the cards in bulk to Australia once a month and then bulk submit to COMC later at 25c per card. It was fun while it lasted but as we've learned by eBay they get you hooked and milk you for as much as they can!

Sorry for the lateness of my reply; but we did an update a few days previously, and there was a bug in the "ready for shipment" code...that should be fixed now, tho.

Just got my first comc delivery - very nifty process!
What happens now??? (Stupid question) says that it is processing, I guess once it is processed I request it to be sent?
