COMC Mailbox Thread

It's hard for me to catch the games over here, but I'm going to do my best - and, fyi? I think hockey is the greatest game (as I'm Canadian), but footy is a close second ;-)

I thought if you got a one touch with the card you paid extra and they ship the card in a one touch
but apparently they don't ship the one touch to you so you pay a extra fee for nothing

Surely this isn't right?

Moe, can you please elaborate as I am definitely under the impression you receive the one touch which is why you get charged graded rates

If the card is received by us in a one touch, it stays in the one touch. We don't remove the cards from those, and we charge the "Oversize" rate for processing it. We only remove cards from the simple toploaders, everything else stays in it's case. I'm sorry for any confusion.

Hi these two Kobe cards arrived on 25 & 27 of july and shipped on the 30 august i got them yesterday in only top loaders, was july before the one touch processing announced?

I guess it was removed from one touch when package was first opened and put in mailbox area and not yet processed

If you got charged as an "oversized" card then you should have received it in one touch... If it was just the 50c charge then it was probably done before the policy update

I believe it was early August when the onetouch policy change happened; again, I am sorry for the confusion and the way your cards were handled.

But, thanks to folks like you, we're striving to make the Mailbox system work better for everyone. Thanks for your input and patience.

One thing that COMC should consider is waiving the charge for processing if we donate the card to COMC charity account. I continually put 'DO NOT SEND GIFT CARDS' with my paypal purchases, but they still end up putting random cards into my packages.

Anyone else not getting ANY emails/pics of cards delivered or replies about the lack of contact? I have quite a few cards delivered and no emails? Last submission received pics of about 50% of cards... And no reply when I question this!

I've been happy with the mailbox. I've received confirmation emails for everything that's been received.
However, I did not get a reply to my email regarding two cards being inside the same case. (they are the same series of card, so would look the same on the back)
They only said there was one card inside.

Thought i'd let people know who plan to send a combination of cards with value over $200 to your COMC box within 1 month (or longer).

I just received this from COMC:
We are required by United States federal law to declare the value of all international shipments we send out. We list the purchase price of the cards (rather than the book value) when the shipping label is printed, which is done automatically by computer. However for your order XXXXX, because these cards were not purchased on our site, we do not know the value declare for them. Please let us know so that we can send this package out to you.
Additionally, if you declare a value of over $200, we must us Registered shipping, which has a $30 instead of a $3 shipping charge. You would need to add this credit to your account before we could ship.

To Moe:
I was wondering if we will be contacted by COMC every time we purchase 15-20 cards per month to get the value of our cards? Or will the need to ascertain the value of the lot being sent be incorporated within the shipping service on your site when processing? I haven't checked my email the last 5 days so this has delayed the shipment of my cards.

That's an awesome question...to which I don't have a ready answer. Let me forward this to our customer service team, and see what they say. Thanks!

Well, that didn't take long at all! I just got this email from Nathan:

"Tim is working on adding a dialog (on the website) so that international users can declare the value of their cards when they make international orders with cards that were not purchased on our site.

Until this is made, when he makes a shipment request, he can also email us at COMC.com to declare this value."

I hope this answers your question. Thanks for asking :-)

Awesome, thanks for that.

Yes, I could have written directly to COMC via email but I thought it was valid from a customer point of view for other ozcardtraders to be aware of this.
I guess you will have a lot of card lots valued at less than $200 in the coming months ;-)

Personally I wouldn't risk that value of cards on $3 shipping... This is not ebay or paypal where you can open an "item not received" case as you are using store credit so COMC are not liable if you don't get your cards... When I get my cards shipped I aint risking not being covered for the sake of $30 on, lets say for declared value... $999 worth of cards

I'm glad fellow ozcardtraders are now aware of this and they're able to adequately declare the value of their collectables prior to shipment to eliminate risk. It has been a learning process - my first one had $0 declared on the box it came in (COMC never requested value), the second order has been delayed by a week due to this issue which has now been rectified. Great service, keep it up!

Cheers,

Question on shipping;
With the 5 options; Std, rapid, priority, reg, exp..
Which options come with tracking?
What (from your experience) is the transit time for the options you have used?
(hoping someone can tell me how quickly the rapid is as opposed to priority & express)

Thanks in advance.
