Raptors To Use Amnesty Provision On Linas Kleiza

Kleiza had previously exercised his player option for the 13-14 season at $4.6 million.
The move will save the Raptors on the luxury tax.

The Detroit Pistons offered Brandon Knight and an expiring contract to the Boston Celtics for Rajon Rondo.

The Celtics would seek Andre Drummond, who the Pistons will not give up in a trade for Rondo.

The Pistons want to evaluate the frontcourt of Drummond, Greg Monroe and Josh Smith before making any major decisions about their future.

The Pistons should give up Drummond. His potential is decent but if they get Rondo surely that's a trip to the playoffs?

Smith and Monroe has your bigs sorted.

@ESPNStatsInfo: Charlotte's NBA team will be Hornets again in 2014-15; went to playoffs 7 times in 14 years as Hornets, 0 playoff wins in 9 years as Bobcats

The NBA’s Charlotte franchise hopes to officially begin shedding its “Bobcats” nickname in a vote of the Board of Governors, switching back to the “Hornets” identity that served the city and the league so well from 1988 to 2002. Actually the name change, if approved, probably won’t take effect until after the 2013-14 season, given the time and expense (estimated at $3 million or more) involved with signage, merchandise and other legal and marketing details. But with “Hornets” freed up by the New Orleans team’s recent switch to “Pelicans,” Charlotte saw a chance to revive a fan base that was the pride of the NBA for more than a decade. NBA.com

@IanBegley: The Toronto Raptors have completed their buyout with former Knick Marcus Camby. He is now a free agent. The #Knicks cannot resign him.

49.53% tax in Ontario!!!! WTF?!?!?!?
Who'd wanna live there???

5 rule changes for the 13-14 season, 3 of which relate to the use of replays.

  1. Can use replays to establish legal position on charge/blocking fouls - They were already allowed to check for inside the circle apparently, but now they will be allowed to check whether the defender moved after the shooter started their jump/shot
  2. Can use replays to award flagrant fouls that were missed. Like the Chris Andersen shove on Hanbrough that was missed in the playoffs
  3. Can use the replay to establish if an off the ball foul happened before or after a shot was made
  4. Clear path fouls will not be called if the defensive player was in front of the offensive player at any time during the possession, not just at the time of the foul
  5. Out of bounds players must immediately come back into play

STILL NO INCREASE TO FLOPPING PENALTIES!!!
