2013 ESP Elite NRL Cards Thread (Updated 5/8/13)

At the end of the day its just over a week, weather we get it now or not were still going to get it and its not that far away so i say sit tight and enjoy,

and if people are waiting for the checklist to decide weather to go all out and buy heaps or less then it doesn't make sense to me i mean if your a collector of a team then it shouldnt matter really, For e.g.: im a titans collector therefore i want the titans sigs doesnt mater who they are i still am going to get them so i can try and complete my collection. I mean if your holding out on waiting to see if an individual player is going to be a sig before buying heaps of boxes then yeah maybe you would want to know but thats the risk in collecting, collecting is not meant to benefit anyone, its meant to be an even playing field if you want to buy 5 cases and then find out your favourite player is a sig then woo bonus you might pull it, I just dont understand the whole needing to know the checklist i mean are people really going to not want to buy boxes because a certain star could be there sig.

I for one feel the whole saving the checklist to release date is a great idea it keeps mystery until the final day of release and then as everyones finding out what the stars are etc everyone is busting boxes As the old saying goes "ALL GOOD THINGS COME TO THOSE WHO WAIT" so i say sit back wait it out and enjoy the ride that is the next week and a bit because come next wednesday its on like donkey kong!
I'm always going to try & get whatever Raiders cards are out there but it's plain stupid to withhold a checklist. If I owned a company I'd want my customers to know what they are buying and drive the marketing for them as much as possible. By not releasing it it makes people a bit standoffish on if they should get right into collecting the whole series or just there team. I for one think ESP again have gotten it wrong in regards to what the fans want

I already know what cards I am chasing whether there is a checklist or not. So I cant see why it is a big secret and don't really care, I find it slightly amusing and I think releasing it yesterday would have generated some extra chat this week which is not a bad thing
As a Parra supporter I just figure the chase cards are gonna be Hayne, Hayne & some guy called Hayne anyway

All the comments and complaints about how ESP should be releasing the checklist early are futile if everyone is still going to buy boxes / cases pre release without it. The only way to force change is to not buy and wait for the checklist if it means that much. Personally I'm happy to wait and see.

My biggest gripe is ESP trying to manipulate market price, last time I checked I lived in Australia which has a free and open trade policy. I think the ACCC would be more interested in this than the NRL.

As for delay in the release again this is just poor management, a well run business would have allowed for possible delays in the supply chain, cutting it so fine that a very short term closure impacts schedules is lame.

Heard they had a couple of delays that impacted on this release...the spill at Botany was the latest.

One player didn't get his cards back signed in time which almost resulted in a redemption card for this particular player and one insert set had to be reprinted from scratch.

There are a lot of things that happen we just don't always hear about them. Hope they get them out ASAP.

Cheers

Yes, ESP do allow almost 2 weeks in case issues arrive. This time issues did eat up that entire 2 week period which is why this small two-day delay directly impacted the release date...usually it wouldn't have.

pumping out 4 series in 1 year has run into teething problems for them by the sound of it.
Were the cards printed or packaged in china .?

ESP stated late last week they were still packing the cards so the spill had nothing to do with the delay. The cards were not even in the country so why all the lies. As collectors all we want is the truth not pi$$ poor excuses & constant lies, If they chose to hold back the checklist so be it but to show us the front of it & promise to release the checklist & have samples at the penrith show & then do a backflip & blame one seller on Ebay for not releasing it is just Bull$hit. But with 3 releases under their belt we should of known better than believe anything ESP say.
I for one will never Ever prepurchase any of their products again I will wait for release & make-up my mind then... I've had enough of their LIES..

Just thought I would see if anyone has gotten emails from both ESP & Ikon? Ikon are actually saying we wont get them until Thursday now but ESP has said Wednesday.

Cheers Glenn

seems like a few of you wont be happy until we wont have any at all

get over it i say

its been 9 years since every team has had predominantly their best player as a sig. the 04 capt sigs is what im talking about.

start looking at some of the positives over the negatives.

the oil spill obviously isnt there fault, players taking to long to sign once again isnt their fault, not releasing the checklist is hardly a big deal, its not as if they have withheld the sell sheet too, you have a fair idea of whats in the set. and we know half the sigs already anyway.

the manipulating the market price is the only thing that concerns me, but i think there just trying to keep everyone happy, everyone has to advertise the same price. but if they want to offer side bonuses thats all good and well.

I gotta say this is the most excited I've been for a release in ages, and all the moaning on here isn't gonna spoil it for me! Two sigs for my team (including a decent player) and the boxes I've bought aren't going to be total flops like they usually are. Great post Girds.

Personally I'm really keen to see this release and I hope it's everything we've been after since ESP got the license.
If it's as good as its shaping up to be I will be stoked.
But I do have a few concerns over how ESP go about their business

Agreed. This is the most excited I have been about a release since I got back into collecting in 2010.

Premium footy cards, out Wednesday. Fairly certain this is good news. Couldn't give two f*cks if ESP lie their *rses off and don't release a checklist at all. I pay for footy cards and it looks like these are good ones.

Matilda Bay don't consult me or release info prior to launching a new beer. Doesn't stop me drinking it though. And how.

Bring on that Benny Barba sig!
