Good for M.V.Steve ! =D> Tellin It like It Is !

What do you guys think the Lakers will do now ?

They obviously got Chris Kaman to fill In the gap. He's basically a broke white guy version of Duncan. Fundamentals. But I don't see that being anything special. I think you need to trade EVERYONE except Kobe and Steve (It would look terrible to trade an old Steve Nash right after getting him was such a big deal. And he actually does want to win.) These guys are old. Gasol must be traded before he Isn't worth anything. Same with MWP. Trade everyone and get some really good guys to play with Kobe for the next 3 years (and Nash for MAYBE 2 years). I do like Steve Blake, but you gotta blow up that team.

It'll be interesting to see how Dwight does In Houston. No more excuses now. He's healthy and In a perfect place to win. I wonder If he'll continue to be a diva and cause drama EVERY season. It's funny how Asik doesn't want to play with Howard !

For the lakers it all about 2014-15 with one one player on the books (nash) and all the cap room in the world to get whoever they want.

This yeah they will pick up a few pieces on one year deals but you wont see any trades as they dont want any contracts on the books (well unless its someone decent)

Ron Artest will get amnesty so he will be gone

Pffffffft all this crap that has been thrown towards Howard is a joke!
If the team wasnt the Lakers you wouldnt hear half of what has come out.
What pisses me off more is Bryant already coming out and saying he wont be wanting to take a pay cut on his next contract.
The team would be in full rebuild mode and to sign Bryant for what he wants will kill off alot of chances the lakers have of signing a few decent players.
I Just think its selffish and shows that he doesnt really bleed yellow and purple. Hes more about himself then anyone else.
Plus he makes more money from outside his NBA contract as is!

where did he say he wouldnt take a pay cut?

Nash is a classy guy, he didn't say anything negative, just that it was clear Dwight was never comfortable.

Shaq is probably right in some way, saying that Dwight couldn't handle the expectations.

The Lakers are about rings. The Rockets would like that but it won't be the end of the world if they fall short of the West Finals.

I have no idea what the Lakers will/should do.

Putting your eggs in the Lebron basket is dangerous. Does he really want to play in L.A when Miami has done alot for him. Why would he leave? Why would he come over the the stacked West conf when they have an armchair ride to the Finals in the East?

Might have a better shot at Melo, or even Bosh may want a bit more attention after being the 3rd wheel.

Will the Lakers try for the lottery this season? They have a heap of holes in their line-up. It's sad to see Bryant won't take a pay decrease to help the team but when Pippen was earning $3 million in 98 you didn't see Jordan taking a pay decrease from his $33 mil, ha ha, that's crazy right???

If the Lakers do want to stink it up this season, they need to get rid of Pau.

I actually think with him as the main big they'll be fine if they're injury free.

Difference was Jordan could still at the time NEARLY single handedly take the team to a ring where as Kobe is well past that.
Put Kobe and Nash with a team of role players and they will not be able to compete!

Slow down there bud before you start a Jordan vs Kobe thread:)

No-one and it has been proven can single handedly take a team to a ring, not even the greatest I've seen Michael Jordan.

Didn't Kobe just have one of his most efficient years?

Hahaha definatly not starting the kobe vs Jordan thing.
I just think Kobe is past his best and would be better off not being the first and only option on offence like last season seemed to be.
i just think him not taking a pay cut shows its all about kobe and not the team / organisation etc

These are a seriously good watch! -

It covers a lot of stuff, the dwightmare and what the lakers may do

IMO, i don't see LeBron going to LA, but Melo going to LA is a pretty decent chance i reckon

Kobe pretty much single handedly took them to the playoffs after being well outside contention...

Why is that not a surprise to me........ Mr. All About Himself not wanting to take a paycut!? LOL

Simple Lakers, offer him a big pay cut, if he doesn't like it he knows where the door is!

I'm pretty sure Kobe isn't ruling out taking a paycut.. From what I've seen and heard all he has said is that without a meeting about a new contract he isn't going to just accept a paycut.. I'm pretty sure if they sat down with him and talked about a contract he would take less and besides what idiot wouldn't want the most money you could get? There is no such thing as having enough money no matter who you are.. It's also not his fault the Lakers fucked up.. They made the mistake by trading for that wanker Dwight Howard..

Without Kobe last season the Lakers don't make the playoffs so why shouldn't he be worth top $$? If you want to talk about overpaid players who should take a massive paycut go look at Pau Gasol.

Kobe will go down as one of the greatest players of all time and in regards to how he plays, he is the closest i've seen anyone compare to Jordan.

Personally i and almost everyone else would have loved to see Krause bring back the Bulls for the 99 season but considering they had to sign Jackson, Jordan, Pippen & Rodman they decided it wasn't worth the chance for what it would cost.

I will forever hate Krause for this.

A lot will depend on how Kobe plays next year and how the Lakers do. Jordan was 35 when they pulled the plug on the team, Kobe will be the same age next year.

How he bounces back from a serious injury at that age will be the determining factor.

Unlike Reinsdorf and the Bulls, Buss & the Lakers have never been afraid to spend, or overspend if they think it will bring them a championship.

If Kobe plays well next year, he will get his money. If they can sign a star that will bring him another ring, he will take a cut.

The man is not stupid.

As for Dwight, he was never going to stay. Mike D'Antoni system never made him feel comfortable. Sadly D-12 is a one dimensional player, dominant but has stalled in regards to developing his game the last few years. Watch what Big Kev does with him. Kevin McHale is sorely under rated is as a big man, but he had a decent jump shot, good pivot work and was excellent low post. It's not hard to see why Dwight went to Houston.

Doesn't matter anyway............ Soon i get to say the immortal phrase one more time.

He's Back. ;)

I used to have a lot of respect for dwight, great defender and rebounder and has some ok post moves when he wants to show them, still had a lot of worl offensivley to be a "great" he really had it all...i think he has shot himself in the foot, people started to get a bad taste in their mouths with him in orlando...lets face it he got van gundy fired!!!...since then its been one dwightorama after another, I know the lakers experiment went pear shaped but lets face it he never really gave it his all...if the team had of been healthy all season and they clicked, well it could of been through to the finals...but thats the way it goes...houston probably will be a good fit for him, harden is the man on that team, dwight can play second or third fiddle---parsons has some potential to be a star still, its a smaller market where he can shrink from the spotlight and earn the mantle of the most over rated superstar ever...i used to think that dwight would be the next mourning or possibly better, but really he doesnt deserve to be in the same sentence, at the current rate he will be in the shawn bradley category...houston WONT win a championship with dwight, unless he grows up and becomes a man and learns to shoot some free throws, im starting to think dwight might be a cancer on teams, like a lot of ex palyers with talent but without their heads in the game or with the team...
prove me wrong dwight!!!!
