2013 ESP Elite NRL Cards Thread (Updated 5/8/13)

I've crunched the numbers on a case of the Elite release & it's not as good as everyone thinks.....

future star, League sensation or Fast Furious Gold = 1 in 3 boxes
Fast & Furious standard = 1 per box
Australian Reps = 2 per box
Triple Threats = 4 per box
Parrallel cards = 24 per box
Common set = none only 184 common cards per box

Depending on how they insert the Signature cards into boxes in case lots is eihter 6 good boxes with a high end hit & 4 no value for money boxes or worst ... If 2 signatures in 1 box that 3 high end hits & 7 no value for money boxes

No value for money boxes will have only
Fast & Furious standard = 1 per box
Australian Reps = 2 per box
Triple Threats = 4 per box
Parrallel cards = 24 per box
184 common cards

Also worked out if you are lucky & you get all the signatures in different cases with no doubles you will need to buy minimum of 7 cases to complete a master set. As per every release from ESP so far it would be much cheaper to buy the cards you want on Ozcard or Ebay.

Still in saying all that I think this is the best release ESP have done to date & hope they improve from here & start producing value for money releases in the future for all us collectors...

I was under the impression it will be

future star, League sensation & Fast Furious Gold are ratio to = 1 in 3 boxes

Meaning
future star = 1 in 3 boxes
League sensation = 1 in 3 boxes
Fast Furious Gold = 1 in 3 boxes

So therefore every 3 boxes you get 1 of each meaning 1 per box

Same, i assume every box has one of either 3.
Yeah exactly the numbers should be

Each box will include
1x (Either future star, League sensation or Fast Furious Gold)
1x Fast & Furious standard
2x Australian Reps
4x Triple Threats
24x Parallel Cards
Plus all the base cards

@$6.00 a pack each box will retail around $144

So if the ratios are correct then your looking at getting all of that for the $144 investment.

So definately value for money, especially for re-sellers they should fetch back what they paid for the box and more quite easily. For collectors such as myself gives a decent chance of hitting the PC cards or atleast getting trade quality cards to trade for them.

Yes exactly right because there are 130 of each gold and sensations aren't there but only 100 of each rookies? Though rookie sigs have 20 cards in the set?

Is this right?

No idea why they chose 20. I hope the Tigers have an extra one...being that they did win the u20's comp last year.

Dogs Minor Premiers.....Raiders, Warriors and Panthers always have pretty solid junior squads too. Or the extra 4 players could just be complete randoms..

possibly a player or two for NSW under20s and QLD under20s... that'd be cool

I wonder what the case card theme will be? And if it will be a continuing series?

Heres an idea, 4 case cards, for previous years award winners, maybe Dally M, Clive Churchill medal, Rookie of the Year, and maybe Premiership winners card...

What also would be nice is a jump back to 2005 where we saw a signed case card from Select. That would be interesting. Nobody has mentioned yet I think that the predictor type card is gonski, not sure what to think about that idea, that is whether it is a good thing or a bad thing.

I was also thinking today about whether to buy into case shares or just get a case. Most people buy into shares for the chance to get the significant case hit (redemption), it seems that if the hype about this series as far as either a sig or a gold in each box is true then there is no real benefit to a share.........just a few random thoughts for the day.
