Kobe tears achilles and out for approx 9-12 months

Kobe aiming to be back by the start of next season

Kobe Bryant has made it clear that we have not seen the last of him despite suffering a torn Achilles tendon on Friday night. The Los Angeles Lakers' head trainer says the Black Mamba is aiming to be back for the start of next season, and it seems like Kobe is serious about that goal. On his newly created Instagram account, Bryant posted a picture of Sunday's Los Angeles Times front page. "I'm keeping track of all doubters and haters," he wrote in response to the article, which suggested that he may never regain his full strength following surgery. USA Today Sports

Totally devastating for all Kobe fans:( , have to say it though, if he comes back better than ever, eclipses MJ's scoring record and maybe even snatch one more ring then, for me, Kobe goes above MJ for G.O.A.T simply because it's typically a career ender of an injury and has happened to him in his 17th season, what a comeback it would be!

checked google and came up with this list of players who have suffered the same injury and what the result career wise was. most noteable would be isiah thomas who didnt return and dominqiue wilkins who did and played as well as before the injury. will come down to his exact injury and his rehab. If he's gone it will be a shame even for the haters

Kobe has the most determination I have seen in any player. If anyone can do it, certainly will be Kobe. He is already aiming to return at the start of next season, knowing him, he will do it.

agree with his drive but have doubts on the start of the season return. the last thing u'd wanna do is over do the return and hurt it again
