Its getting annoying people put cards for sale and say make offers. You do then they come back and say no im after this price

JUST PUT IN THE TREAD WHAT YOUR AFTER AND IT WOULD OF STOPPED BOTH OF US WASTING TIME

Ok I'm getting this back up again.

I voted yes, big time and replied in this but now I'm really p*ssed off.

TIME WASTERS ON HERE ARE KILLING THIS SITE.

Now nobody's perfect, hell I'm sure I've even somewhere enquired about a price on something and then not followed through with it.

But this grey area needs to be sorted.

Example.

Sale thread is up for mainly lower end stuff. Lots of $2-$10 cards.

Pics but, NO PRICES!!!

I enquire about how much.

Of course I get the "make an offer".

I make an offer. No reply either way even though person is online all day.

Still no reply. I ask to give me a reply please.

Seller says "others are interested in the cards too".

What are you supposed to do?

Dont forget the flip side when you list a price in a sales thread and you still get a pm saying "how much do you want".

It's just such a time waste.

You send out pms and wait and wait to hear back. Then the return pm does not help the situation.

Mods, is it time to make a set rule on this? The votes are in favour 77%????

Of course it's very hard to put a price on certain rare items with volatile pricing. But most people know what they'd like to get for a card.

So now I just wait to find out if someone else will offer more, then I'll get the return pm saying to beat it if I want the cards.

What a joke. We might be talking about the difference of $5 here.

So there running it sort of like an offline/private auction then? Don't think they'll be round for long then....

Maybe time for another bump, have noticed a lot of "new" members simply putting up a thread saying they have cards for sale but no list, pictures or description of what they have.
Seriously is it really that hard to at LEAST put a desription of what you have up?????

Nothing worse than this right here.

Seen a few myself.

"I have a huge collection for sale".

Do you have any Tim Duncan? No.

Another person asks, "do you have any Penny Hardaway? No.

And it goes on and on.

i was guilty of the "scans only no price threads" way back in january 2013 when i joined! ( some of these posts are probs about me:whistle:) but that was mainly due to me not being able to work out how to price each pic because i was trying to sell a huge amount of cards. I agree prices are a better way of letting people know what you want and from now on ill list a price and only try and sell a few cards at a time.
Also being so new to the hobby at the time i did have no idea what my cards were worth!
I think im getting the hang of it now and am still enjoying this site.

Nothing to be guilty about. Site never stipulated you had to have prices and its a valid sale tactic. At least you had scans.

I like my idea best. Two FS sections......... One with mandatory prices and one for offers :D:thumbsup:

Just to add to the convo. What I really hate on BO is quite often if you put a price on a card, and if certain people deem it to be too high they will make comments in the thread saying so and sometimes it can get quite personal (as does most things over there lol). At least here we have rules around this, that protect the seller from 'slander'.

Making an offer is a way to try and get to dollar for the card, hoping someone doesn't realise they can get it cheaper and hoping someone will make a stupid offer on it. Not sure how many people here would actually do that. Everyone knows what is the lowest they would take for their card, so why not put a price on it with some room for negotiation to cut out a lot of time wasting.

Having a PC should be mandatory, you need to see what condition a card is in prior to purchasing it. Would you buy something off Ebay without seeing a pic first? Anyone that stupid?

My 2c.
