this is a tough one....in theory prices are a great idea, everyone knows what you are wanting roughly and in theory this should work! BUT this is my biggest beef and yes you will all say this is part of being on here, BUT>>>>>>>>>>>>i have to be honest and after talking to a lot of people on here--this sight is not what it used to be!!! i know im going around in circles here, why have prices when all you get is people most the time offering you stupid offers, its not the long term decent members but a lot of newbies and people that have been banned and have new accounts ---you know who you are, that are doing this and pissing me and a lot of other members off!!!! then when they want to do a deal you get stuffed around, or just ignored!!! AND if you want a card off them and make them a REASONABLE offer they wont budge, when the week before they offered you some insulting offer...
if we are going to inforce rule changes on compulsory prices etc, maybe we also need to push some of these moron members off, this is isnt a go at the mods either, becasue you guys are awesome:thumbsup:, anyway thats off my chest and im sure a lot of you feel the same...end rant....

Why should it be mandatory to put prices when alot of people here are just lowballing whether you put a price or not?

I have 2 for sale threads that i'm trying to sell.

This one with no price: http://www.ozcardtrader.com.au/comm...ing-from-collecting-sale.133799/#post-1212909 Alot of lowballers...

This one with prices: http://www.ozcardtrader.com.au/comm...-refractor-diaw-topps-chrome-rc-black.128557/ Still lowballers...

When you say low ballers, what price are you comparing their offers too? Your expectation or market/ebay value?

have noticed a lot more sale threads lately without pricing, do sellers do this to get a response thus getting a free bump for their thread?

since i went walkabouts for about 2 months i managed to miss this thread.

i refuse to make offers for cards. as adam said, no matter how much i want it, it dont make offers.
i feel that its a bit of a cop out from a sellers point of view trying to play buyers off against each other.
granted everyone wants to maximise their selling price, the amount of times ive heard 'ill get back to you in a few days' is so bullshit.
you instantly know they are fishing for better offers, but dont want to knock you back as a safety net for selling the card.

pictures and prices are not that hard. if your going to the effort of making a post to sell your cards, the way i find to maximise your sales is to have good scans and prices. this saves you time in the long run, ie. answering 20 PMs a day offering $10 for a $70 card. cuts out the tire kicks and makes life so much easier.

i think that it should be mandatory to post pictures and prices on OCT if selling..
trading is another story, becuase quite alot of people will put FS/FT. thats the grey area.

why not have another section for 'sales' and another for 'trading'?

If i put prices in a thread don't message me asking whats the price on a certain card. Clearly the price is right there in the thread :)
Works both ways really.

As for pics im happy to add pics when im selling small amounts but its just not possible when i have a lot of cheap cards to offload especially when they are commons etc

thats generally what i do. i'll say that thats the best price listed. far easier. make it a reasonable price and you will get a PM saying 'i'll take it', rather than 'whats the best on this card'

idk. ive resorted to selling on ebay now to get rid of that last few pesky cards that no one wants.
and my hardens, since no-one wants them either.. lol

dont see a reason to not have prices, but dont see it being a bother not having them either

what erks me is when you have a price for sale and you still get the crappy offers come in.

They just get the reply "No Soup for you"

for me: prices mandatory, pics not.
im with a couple of the others tho in that i dont make offers anymore. the seller knows what theyre after for the card, so its easier if you just tell me instead of waiting and hoping that i come back with a price you like or above what you were thinking.
if you want to sell you should have to be a little organised...

doesnt matter whether or not you put prices on cards, you still get lowballers and morons sending messages saying that your prices are too high or if your really desperate ill give you this for it...unfortunately this sight has a lot of people who just dont think when pm ing you, i have tried both ways, prices and no prices and in an ideal world prices would be much better...anyway short of us all hanging this annoying people out to dry we just have to suck it up...

I don't get the issue with low balling? Just say no, why take it personally? If someone low balls you say pass and move on. Its like when you ask for a price on a card and get your answer, fall of you chair, then politely pass, no need for comments, just pass.

fair comment...its okay when its happened a few times...but not so great when you get more stupid offers then proper ones...

I would like pics if it's:
A. A rare card
B. An autograph
C. A patch
D. A condition sensitive or grade worthy RC (even though I don't grade I like to have a good centered one and don't want to over-trade for an off centered one.)

And most definitely a price. I hate when people say make me an offer so bad! At least have some kind of number and an OBO option. Is it really that hard? Put the number stupid high if you're scared to sell too low and then you can negotiate.

The more annoying thing that seems to be happening around here a lot is when people ask a price on a card, you give them a price below eBay and other peoples sale threads, get back the reply "I'll pass". Seems like everyone wants something for nothing these days.

yes, yes, yes, yes !!! i couldnt agree any more..

Maybe time for another bump, have noticed a lot of "new" members simply putting up a thread saying they have cards for sale but no list, pictures or description of what they have.
Seriously is it really that hard to at LEAST put a desription of what you have up?????
